Purposely not reading the comments before i vote so i'm not biased in any way. I went Shore and was pleasantly surprised most of you agree with me at this point in the voting.
I think this kid is underrated, and could be a very strong player for us in the future. Really look forward to him getting some time in the AHL.
I dunno, he really didnt blow my skirt up when he was called up. Maybe it was the jitters, but I didnt see what the fuss was about. Hope Im wrong.
he was a 20 year old defensman getting his first cup of coffee in the NHL. defensmen by nature are supposed to go unnoticed (unless you're a ridiculous talent like Erik Karlsson or something) - let alone a 20 year old.
he looked like a great skater in the few games i saw of him.
I stuck with shore again here. I actually think shore should have been #5 and robak #6 with Petro at #7, but people seem to get excited with the younger more recent picks around here (see Petro and Grimaldi), so robak has to wait another poll in my eyes simply because shore plays a position of need in our current organization whereas robak i defense which we have 3 young guys already on the team in guds, Kuli, and ellerby (albeit robak projects to surpass ellerby).
In the next pole I think it'll be unanimously Robak. It seems like Shore will have the most impact at this stage. Robak has the tools, but he looks so ridiculously soft, and I just don't know how that will translate to the NHL. Wish he would become more physical.

Exactly, I hate how soft he is. Everything else he does is fine though.
Went with Robak again, but that doesn't mean I don't like Shore. I've been high on both of them for a while now and they're quietly becoming great role players for our future.
I'd also like to point out that the Panthers have been getting great value for their 2nd rounders in recent years. Shore, Robak, Petrovic, and even Grimaldi look to be solid NHL contributors over the next few years with their own strengths and talents.

In the case of people voting for Petrovic over Robak, it has little to do with him being a newer prospect. It has everything to do with him being a more well rounded d-man capable of playing physically on defense but also contribute offensively too (even in his brief time so far in the AHL). Robak has not really been known for playing physically and most of us are still waiting for him to show that side more. At this point in time, Robak is on a similar path as Ellerby IMO and not sure he has much higher upside than Ellerby but I still think the potential is there.
Brian Campbell is soft and he isn't a bad defender...
But Robak isn't the open-ice hitter that Soupy is !
I doubt Robak sees the ice like Soupy does, or have the extreme patience he does either. From what I read, Robak makes good decisions though. It just depends at how well he can become at those two things that it would make up for his lack of physical play. But if he is just average at those two things and without being physical, then well, it's a pretty unspectacular package.

People have been crying for Robak developing a physical edge since forever... Yet all the kid does is being an extremely effective defenseman at every level he has played without a physical edge.
He'll get it done at the NHL level with very effective puck-moving abilities and puck-rushing talents... Believe me, Robak is a keeper. An extremely intelligent player who plays with his head and skating rather than his shoulders and fists.
