Exactly. I doubt he pulled a Slapshot when asking for a trade. And Dean's been through this before with Kippr and ToskaLOL in SJ.

Yep, not a problem here, it's a day we ALL knew was coming, sooner, rather than later.

But Bernier has a Stanley Cup.

I'm sticking with a 2nd and maybe a low-end prospect. GMs know that Dean has to trade Bernier now with Quick locked up. I would be very happy if Dean can get a 1st for next year to replace the one going to Columbus.

Bernier doesn't want his unborn children to go to school in LA. That's the obvious reason.

Are private schools in LA that bad?

Oh man, I seriously loled just now.

Seriously though. Better ship him east 'cause this dude is gonna be a sick goalie.

To Chicago for Saad or TB for Connolly. Picks to even it out on either side. That's my best guess

I think Zatkoff is ready to be an NHL backup honestly. We can sign him for cheap and reward him for his loyalty.

Saad is untouchable (Hawks made that clear at deadline)

Finished year with Hawks , Announced Hawks 1st round pick

He is best LW prospect Hawks have had in nearly 30 years ,, He will be part of Hawks team next year

I believe he will be a really good goalie, so I don't want him to stay in the West.

Fair enough. Maybe two-way defenseman is a better description? Also I consider Mitchell a PMD in a pinch.

I'd ask for one too if I were Bernier, and I'm sure Lombardi will find a good starting role home for him. He deserves a shot at being the #1 guy somewhere.

Amen to that. It's good for both player and organization.

Hard to see where he fits right now. Tampa already got their young goalie in Lindback, Toronto is looking for a veteran since they already have a young guy in Reimer, Columbus doesn't seem very interested, Florida is either getting Luongo or waiting for Markström...

Edmonton could be a fit, but that's a scary team with Bernie in goal. Maybe the Devils once Marty retires?

If the Kings keep him for another year I hope he gets more starts to rest Quickie a bit extra after this long playoff run, and hopefully get him ready for another one.

So, the sequence of events; announcement that Quick has agreed to 10 year extension at ~3pm central time, then at roughly 3:30pm Bernier requests a trade? Seems like nothing but speculation to me, but whatever...

Thats ok, we don't accept fetuses in our schools. Our school districts just don't roll that way.

I'm thinking the same thing.

Unless it's just like a mutual thing between Dean and Bernier that as soon as Quick is extended they will explore a trade.

Well if you believe the rumors, Bernier asked for a trade during the season already. Now the rumors of Quick's extension come out and either Bernier or his agent float the a new trade request out to force Lombardi's hand.

Do not trade him to Edmonton, all they would need is a couple of solid vet d man, and sit back and watch that team grow.

Knew it was coming and totally expected after the JQ extension by everyone. I say thank you to JB for being a giving his best to us and wish him all the best in his future. I think he is an elite talent and ready to be a number 1 on most teams.

If he ends up in NJ the return would have to be very good.

Don't see the Kings dealing Bernier to make an immediate upgrade or to bring in help right now seeing how most of the lineup is set. If he is dealt, it's going to be for future assets who can be developed into something later or be moved in the future whenever the team needs to make an upgrade.

I would think Lombardi would want that 1st back he gave away for Carter since we drafted 1st and then 4th this year.

I would say New Jersey and Edmonton are prime destinations. The market has thinned since Columbus and Tampa Bay upgraded.
