"Not that we've ruled out KHL, the real news you probably wanted was this... from what we hear, @Dustinpenner25 likely resigning w/ ‪#LAKings"

Wonder if this re-signing is pending in case any of the UFAs the Kings have targeted sign elsewhere.

That gets sticky, because obviously Penner is free to sign anywhere on July 1 as well, and for Penner's sake the market for him on July 1 may dry up by July 2nd.

I have to think Penner's deal with the Kings (if there is one) either gets announced before July 1 (or very early on July 1) or he's gone.

With the playoffs that Penner had, he's not in a position where he's going to have no suitors and he's going to wait around for us to go after someone else.

I feel like he has more pride than that, even if we are the defending champions and he had an off year.

This is turning into a heck of a day, we start w/ healthcare then Quick is locked up, and now Penner will be too. I love it.

1 yr or bust, ESPECIALLY after they gave Stool 3. I have no problem with Penner for one year but any more is totally unjustified.

Penner will re-sign before July 1st.

Parise is not coming to LA. Let it go.

I heard he is getting a 10-year deal for around $60 million.

Let people think what they want. You repeating yourself a million times isn't going to help

It helped getting Murray fired.

I expect a 2 year deal for Penner. 1 year would be ideal, but I think he will want some security for less money.

That's good to hear, Penner is so damn likable. If he figures out how to play well consistently he'll go from whipping boy to fan favorite in no time. This past playoff run is a good start.

If he promises puts up 30 goals a year for the next 10 years while eating no less than 15 pancakes a week, I'm game for that.

I want a one year deal. 3.1 and if he sucks again during the season, trade him at deadline or during the season. Too risky to sign anything longer than 1-year term.

My guess is 2 years $6.5 million. Same per year as Stollie.

Then we are going to be bored the rest of the summer...

Fine with me.

Returning the entire Stanley Cup champion team roster intact. I really don't see the problem with that. Do you?

What? With all of the Cup stories throughout the summer? No way, it is going to be the best summer ever.

Probably because he told them he would not accept less than a 3-year deal, and the Kings agreed.

I don't see why management would let him negotiate like that. He had a bad regular season, I think he shouldn't of been in a position to do that.

Re-phrased...

We will be bored watching everyone else try to improve their teams through free agency. We will just bring back the entire roster from a Cup winning team instead.

I guess I won't to worry about gettng up early to wach TSN to see who we signed on Sunday.

Lombardi has said publicly on multiple occasions, especially recently that he feels he is to blame for Stoll's numbers, putting Stoll into roles he's not suited for since DL didn't find a player for said roles. Now he's confident with Stoll in his current third line center role. And let's face it, Stoll took a pay cut to stay so probably DL was willing to give him term.

Cause he took a $500k/year discount?

Cause he is MONEY in the face-off circle?

Cause he is a beast on the PK?

Cause he cross-checks the crap out of other teams?

Points are not everything.
