That's a huge roster. Man what a difference having money makes. Several invitees which surprises me but half of them play for legit teams like Kelowna, Niagara, Kitchner, U-Mass Lowell, Boston U and the like.

There are a few Texas kids but again that's not a bad thing. I'm going to have to figure out a time I can get over there to see them.

Now that's a nice looking roster. Maybe the most talented group of prospects ever attending a Dev. Camp for the Stars Organization.
Thumbs up for anyone who attends it and uploads a vid or two (hope Mark does it again this year).

I'll almost certainly be out on that last Thursday for the 3on3, 4on4 and 5on5. But I may try to go to another earlier day. One where I can see at least some of both groups without a long lunch break in between. That first Tuesday might work. I'll take a few vids with my phone or camera.

I don't think there's any doubt it's absolutely the most talented group. The invitees seem interesting and more than just token local guys. A lot of the European players are going to be over and that's huge. Plus it's the longest development camp, as far as total number of days, that I can ever remember. That can only help a lot of these kids. Really can't wait till next week with free agency, probably some trades and D-Camp.

Two things:

- Any video (allowed?) procured from this for your HF representative would be terrific certainly as, rumor has it, he is not a Texan.

- Bold prediction: Evan McEneny will impress enough to earn a contract.

If I go Friday I'll try and get as much as I can, but the quality will probably be crappy (only thing I have is my phone).

Unlikely, since he's still draft eligible for next year...

which would only mean he'd have to be pretty impressive for dallas to sign him rather than hoping to draft him next year.

NA Players can be signed still at this point, even if eligible to re-enter draft next year, AIUI.

How do I get HF Credentials to be an official media person that can speak to the players? I'll ask whatever list you send me plus take video of said interviews. I promise no foul language, no dumb which animal are you, and just straight hockey talk.

Thought it was that NA players can be signed after they're 20 (or after the draft when they'll turn 20 later that year) and for the rest of the world it's after they're 22... But I guess I could be wrong... Do we have any example of an undrafted player being signed by an NHL team that early in the past few years?

Yes ... with the Dallas Stars even. Both Hubert Labrie and Tristan King were guys passed over in the draft then signed with Dallas over the summer.

He's very correct about this possibility.

Evan McEneny missed all but two games this season with a torn ACL.

Quote:
McEneny already has good size and bulk on his frame. He’s a naturally gifted offensive defenseman. He can make a very good first pass or skate out of danger and very adept at joining the rush. He has a good hockey IQ and plays both sides of the puck. He effectively uses his size in the physical department.

Should McEneny get drafted in June he’ll be a project and NHL teams will depend heavily on medical information on how he is recovering from his surgery. A team that has depth in prospects on the blue line however may be willing to take the chance. If I were running the draft for an NHL team with such depth, that’s certainly how I’d feel. A definite high risk – high reward type player.

Klingberg had surgery (hip) end of May, will miss 4-6 months and the start of next season.

No idea about Guptill, but I assume some kind of injury, too.

Yep. He'd have to pay for his own way to get down here.

A few days ago Klingberg mentioned he was leaving Dallas after two surgeries and some rehab. Said he loved the city and people.

That was via Twitter.

He didn't provide a ton of details. Although, Jere mentioned a hip injury, and I'm pretty sure he also hurt his knee in the playoffs. The initial reports were that the knee looked serious, but he eventually came back and played some. He could have had hip and knee surgery I guess.

After 2 surgerys, 7 weeks with crutches, and rehab, 40 degrees without swimming. Its going to be more than great to go back to Sweden ‪#home‬

But I'm going to miss Dallas though. Great city and nice people. I want to send a thank you to all the involved people. Appreciate it.

Hip injuries that require surgery and that a player can play through are often labrum tears. He's young enough that a full recovery is likely (see Austin Smith).

And no, I'm not a MD, so it's speculation.

Skellefteć's doc said Klingberg did not injure himself on a particular play or possible caught hit. His hip problems developed over a longer period of time, gradually losing more and more mobility, that's why they do not call it an 'injury' per se. But obviously it'd be the best decision to do an operation in the off-season now in order to get rid of the hip problems before the start of next season and his career in NA.

The great aspect is that Skellefteć contacted the Dallas staff and consulted with each other what'd be the best thing for the player. I assume they have many professional docs there in Dallas who have experience in doing those kinds of surgeries. So I think he should be fine by the end of the year.

My Swedish isn't perfect, so you should rather consult Mr & Mrs Google Translation to check yourself:
