If we want to get anything significant in return, Bernier will probably have to be part of a package deal.

Don't count out Philly as a possible suitor. Snider and Holmgren are trigger happy. Just because they locked up Bryz doesn't mean they won't go after another goalie.

This is Quick's team and Bernier deserves to start somewhere else. Hopefully the Kings can get something great in return.

If it's for draft picks then you can cross Jersy off the list as they won't have a first this year due to the Kovi contract... So it'd be either prospects/roster players, or multiple picks coming back the Kings way from the Devils.

After what went down last summer, I have a hard time believing Lombardi will ever deal with Tambellini again , especially sending a potential star goalie his way.

After you deal Bernier, sign Brent Johnson to a 1 year deal.

Toughest tender in the league...ask Dipi.

If we trade Bernier I hope we sign Johan Hedberg as a backup.

I think Edmonton is a prime location for Bernie. We could get a solid return. MPS was on DL's radar during the draft but we took Schenn.

MPS + 2nd rounder and low end prospect?

Here's the trade Edmonton wins the Schultz bid.
We trade Bernier for Schultz. Get a nice D prospect and piss the Ducks off in the process.

Not that this is what I would want but it would sure be

I like Bernier, but Quick is a warrior who plays a huge number of games, which really places less value on our backup than on a lot of other teams. Also I do feel like Bernier deserves a chance to be #1 somewhere -- he really is good and there are several teams who are in need of a goalie upgrade, so we could get some good value for him.

What would it take to get him to chicago? hawks desperately need a shake up in net and i've been wanting to go after Bernier for a long time now. just skimming through the thread it seems you guys want help in the future more than immediate roster players, so Morin/Pirri + 1st?

NJ also hosts the draft next season, would Lou really give it up to the NHL with the draft in NJ?

Bettman will get booed like crazy in NJ.

I think dean moves Bernier to the east.

Man, I was always a Bernier believer but Quicker is just too damn good. Sad to know that he's going to be moved but I really hope it's to the East so he isn't a pain in our ***** for years to come. Good luck Jon.

I agree, it'd probably take a little extra to get Dean to move him to a team in the west.

Haven't read the thread but personally I have no problem with this & I assume Dean will be happy to honor the request.

Kings are kinda in a bad place with Bernier in terms of finding a trade partner. Lots of teams looking for a young goalie are young teams...and young teams really value picks/young prospects, which is really all the Kings need.

rumor or not this WILL happen. trade or no trade JB has been debated ad nauseum. once DL knew he had Quick locked long term this was going to happen. JQ knew it and JB knew it. if Bernier has asked to be traded, which personally i think he has (or will) the guy has earned the chance to be a #1.

i dont remember what i was watching but they were talking about this very scenario. how well run organizations that have depth, will smartly move players to give them a chance elsewhere to be 'the guy' when there isn't roster or time for them. the team that does is seen among the players as a destination team, because of how things are run.

JB has earned his chance to a #1 so give him his wish and thank him for his time.

now the question is to where and for what. one team i haven't heard mentioned, but i think is a good consideration is OTT. Anderson is 31+, and Bishop backing him up has less experience than JB. OTT prospect pool in net is weak to top it off. what they do possess is forwards in depth at the pure prospect level and guys ready to move up. not to mention they are in the east. on paper OTT is the perfect trading partner
