Steadying influence for the kids in Hamilton,as far as the big boys,I know that's Habs but he would be the big boy there now.Like someone said he was a good influence on Avtsin when he was in Hamilton.Leadership qualities are one good reason besides his play and maturity.

Really sucks how he lost an entire year. He would have been a great call-up last year, but now is in danger of being passed by younger prospects with higher upside.

I can't believe Rick Nash signed a 2 way in Montreal.

He must really want to be here.

Welcome Nash .

Minor signing, but I like it. Showed some good things in Montréal and Hamilton. Gives us some defensive depth.

He will probably need waivers to go to Hamilton right?

Good question. Course given that he hasn't played in a year, he might clear them. Hope he does.

I think he would barring a monster camp. St.Denis in the same situation may not, he looked good AHL last year and solid in his brief NHL time. I think he'd get plucked.

Nash and st. denis are never gonna play for us except a few callups but regularly...............no. Waste of time, space and money.

St. Denis is not going to challenge for the Norris, but he looked very solid when he had his time in the bigs last year.

Right now he is a good depth guy that will get plenty of fill in time when the inevitable injuries come.

As for Nash, hope he gets a shot also.

You need veterans in the AHL for stability and callups in case of injuries. Last yaer at one point we had 4 regulars out on defense. I think St.Denis might stick as #7 d-man depending on what happens to Weber.

No, not unless he plays 60 games in the NHL this up coming season.

just a stupid way to look at it the signing. Not a waste of time, space or money as you have to have depth signings and Nash has shown at least he's a solid AHLer which you need to have.

Not at all weird, why would you think that is was? A QO doesn't really mean much of anything other then retaining the players rights.

Nash isn't really like St-Denis, as steady freddy can do it all but is a rock in his own end for Hamilton while Nash really struggled in his own end while with the Dogs.

Perhaps we could see a Nash-Elllis or Nash-Pateryn pairing as Nash needs someone that brings a steady presence in his own end.
