Some of you guys need to relax. I don't see where in the article it's'supposed to sound like he will leave.

In fact, his agent said a couple days ago that he was expecting Moen to re-sign.

If anything, chances are better that he will stay right now.

Blunden and Darche are unlikely to return. Nokelainen is a center and Weber a d-man.

If Moen walks, possibilities to replace him are...Kostopoulos, Glass, Prust, Tootoo etc

It's one of the more realistic I have seen numbers wise, no guarantee we can get all those players but the numbers are in line. Maybe PK gets a bit more 8-9 mil over 2 years like Price's last deal.

Other than the fact that paying Semin 6,7mil is ridiculous... what will you do next season when DD and Pacioretty will need raises and Gally and his 3mil+ contract will arrive ?

I understand the allure of signing big names like Semin, but I really feel like Bergevin is going to be very careful not sign guys that he might regret down the line (like Gomez, Gionta etc...). He is going to want to have space to sign/acquire players as he is building this team.

I think (and hope) Bergevin is going to do this properly & build the team slowly. Something Gainey admitted he was unable to do & why he stepped down. I am not expecting a big splash this off season on the UFA market. I would look more to trades as Bergevin starts building a winner in Montreal!!!

Kaberle and Bourque can be moved by 2013-2014 to make room for DD and Pacioretty raises. Most of Galchenyuk's contract is bonuses, his initial cap hit is only about 1 mil.

What if you overpay a bit for Semin and only give him 2 years, makes it much easiuer to move him or let him go shorter term if you are not happy after 1 year.

I agree on going slowly, but Semin has crazy skill and will probably have something to prove leaving Washington. As long as you don't go 5-6 years it's not as risky.

Yeah but bonuses count against the cap.

I'm started to get the feeling that this team will be made up of mostly the same players as last year.

I didnt give a raise to Semin and we know we have to overpay by 10% to sign UFA.

We would have to find suitors for Kaberle (1 year remaining on his contract), Gionta and maybe Plekanec.

Most years they don't unless they get earned and can be carried forward to the following year. This year they did count because it was the last yaer of the CBA.

Jeez man, just heard Frankie Gagnon on the radio and the guy has lost his mind. He's going on and on about how terrible it is that we let Darche go. He actually said "How can the organization not re-sign him after everything he's done for the team"...Sorry but, unless I've been asleep the last few years, Darche has not been part of the organization for more than 3 years and was a spare forward (besides his AHL stint). You're acting like we just let go someone who spent his whole career in Montreal and was a huge part of the organization.

There was less outrage when they let Koivu go, and he was the longest serving captain EVER.

The only thing Id add is that I would have sign Darche instead of Nokelainen. (13th forward, 4th liner)

Noke is 9 years younger and plays center, so I can see their reasoning.

Plus they didn't "let him go" they offered him a 2 way deal meaning his spot isn't guaranteed. He may end up signing it if he can't get a 1 way elswhere(I expect him in TB 1 or 2 years at 750-800k 1 way).

Darche was the "go to guy" for the media. Now they will need someone else

As a McGill grad I probably liked Darche more than most, he seems like a good guy and was a useful role player who worked his way to the NHL. But it's sad how there will likely be less talk when Markov leaves than there is when Mathieu Darche left.

Is Halpern still a free agent? If the plan is to bring in some pricey grinder like Prust or Ott, a Halpern/Noke tandem for 4C wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.

•Tim Panaccio of CSN Philly: The Flyers may not get Matt Carle locked up before July 1st. Carle’s agent, Kurt Overhardt:

“We continue to talk to them but I wouldn’t be surprised if he is available on July 1. But we’re going to continue to talk to the Flyers. Just move forward accordingly.”

There were reports that he wouldn’t get to July 1st, but Dennis Wideman’s 5 year, $26.25 million deal may have changed things. Carle could now be worth $5.5 million, but the Flyers may be looking for something closer to $5 million.
