Blainville-Boisbriand Armada 12/13

Congratulations to Stefan Matteau and Cedric Paquette on getting drafted this weekend. Clapperton and Marcoux undrafted means the likelihood of seeing them back as 20 years old has become higher!

I am looking forward to see which players we can snag at the import draft. Hopefully Bouchard can bring in two solid forwards.

One guy to keep in mind for you poolies out there: Marc-Olivier Roy. I wouldn't be surprised to see him lead the team in scoring next season.

Likely starting lineup:

Clapperton - Paquette - Roy
Hodhod - Tanguy - Matteau
EURO - Lebel - EURO
Faust - Aquin - Lavoie

Ouellet - Picard
Micallef - Bahl
Hoyles - Berube

Marcoux - Phaneuf

They have a deep team... Advantage BLB... Lower price to pay at the deadline..

Well they've had a bit of succes with Latvians before... And they didn't like their D, so a step in the right direction, but they need a star.

Bouchard had mentioned he wanted to improve their D. I did find it a bit surprising considering they have some nice pieces on the back end in Ouellet , Miscalif and even Picard. Hoyles is going to keep getting better and better. He had a very solid season as a rookie.

I wouldn't mind him improving the D but if you compare with the rest of the league, we're surely top-5

Ouellet - Possibly the best D with Carrier and Lefebvre

Micallef - Experienced guy that can pot in around 40 pts and play well all-around

Picard - A good puckmover that will keep it simple alongside Ouellet

Marti - Who knows but he is 19 years old and plays physical

Bahl - If he reports

Berube - Played in the playoffs last season, great puck mover

Hoyles - Physical D with good puck-moving ability

It is not perfect but there is a lot of good elements, along with good potential with the kids and Marcoux backstopping everything.

Maybe he's looking for a top notch guy to reduce Ouellet's load ??

Why would Houle want to reduce Ouellet's ice time? He can do everything on the ice, he's a general out there.

Let's say Ouellet plays 30 mins a game
Micallef 23
Picard 22
Marti 18
Berube 14
Hoyles 13

That seems fine for everyone and if Ouellet needs a couple of breaks here and there everyone can add a solid 1 or 2 minutes and it won't show.

If you add another top-notch D, that will take away crucial development time for Hoyles, Berube and Bahl.

Idk, Armada are a weird team... A true star is needed upfront, Not a Euro on the back.

They're a weird team for someone who's never seen them play.

Armada trade Micallef to Rocket for picks

What do you think of the trade?

Good addition. What was the cost? Which picks went the other way?

Why would the Armada get rid of their #2 D in a contending season for picks?

What is the rationale?

20 year old and you can only keep 3 per season unless your an expansion team ..
