Ryan McDonagh (above) is believed to have joined the Rangers delegation in trying to recruit University of Wisconsin free agent defenseman Justin Schultz.
Not sure if that means he's there or not.
That sentence is not in the mobile version of the story. There is no reference to McD being at the meeting.
truth of the matter is . No other team can offer him what we do . Our team besides richie, hank and maybe 2 others are all in there mid to low 20's . if he signs here and stays here . He will be able to grow with the same guys for the next 10 years o0 and did i mention a team that was 2 wins shy of the SCF ! I think the only thing that would stop him from signing here is not being close to home also his family prolly hates us since they are season ticket holders for the Nucks and we beat them in 94 hahaha

it was better off he wasnt at the meeting . what he did was last night he callled and spoke to him . Telling him how great it is and what the NYR do off the ice for the players . This was the first year i ever remember seeing a Ranger team like this . It reminded me of a college frat house . lol thats what so awesome about this group of guys and how much man love i have towards them . So much that my Fiance isnt allowed to be home when the game is on lol
Based on his moves since taking over the Flames, I guess it isn't a surprise that he sounds like a reality show contestant here.
Why even make a comment like that? Why not just say, "it didn't work out," or "he decided to go in another direction" or something of that nature? Saying you made the initial cut but didn't make the final five just makes your team sound like the mediocre mess they are.
Got to say Schultz is being ridic with this crap.. he does not have the right to hold court like this, he has never been in the league and as not paid his dues to be an FA..
Therefore, should he sign elsewhere I'll have to hate him for his entire career, but if he comes here, all is good

It's also the first time we've had this much access to any NY Rangers team. Consider HBO 24/7, Twitter, and Blueshirts United. Unprecedented access to this team.
Saw today a video clip on TV (Rogers Sportsnet) in which Sather was asked how the meeting went, Sather said, "What meeting?" When asked about Schultz, Sather said "Who?" The only meeting Sather said he had was with Don Meehan and it was about fishing.
Not sure what that means, either it went badly, or he's throwing everyone off.

The CBA says he has a right to do this. He's the third most sought-after player this offseason.

It's capitalism, pure and simple. There's a demand out there for this kid...he's selling high while the hype machine pumps up his IPO...not unlike what Wallstreet did with Facebook stock. Whether either of those lives up to the hype remains to be seen.
But, yeah, like LaBron, if this kid snubs his nose at us, he'll have a target on his back each time he steps into MSG. I'm sure the fans will come up with something special for him.

One of the worst qualities about Sather is also one of his best.
He doesn't talk to the media, and when he does open his mouth you get nada in terms of information.

I would think that Schultz camp said no leaks or you are out of the running for his services. What Glen did was perfect, kept everything quite and completely ignored the questions.
The cut was from 28 to 13 teams? 30 teams in the NHL. We know he didn't want to pay in Anaheim, so that leaves 29. What's the other team that wasn't in the first group along with Anaheim to make it 28?

With the new optimism in New York with Sather`s arrival there is an immediate impact quick fix on the possible board of the Rangers… sign Mike Van Ryn a top NHL prospect that is available to all takers. However there is a more immediate problem in New York
Schultz will be a Ranger, book'it, done deal, finito..He's going to be debating internally , but ultimately will choose the familiarity of knowing McD and Stepan over being closer to home. The psychological factor of having those guy's you know on the ice around you will alleviate the pressure this kids going to be feeling, both internally and externally.
