Bradley should be claimed at under a million

Surprised no one wanted Santorelli through trade. If Toronto had free rosters spots I'd take him off waivers.

Had a buddy of mine who played with him in the AHL say he was the worst defensive player he ever played with juniors included. He does have pretty good offensive instincts, but have to play the whole ice surface in the professional game especially at the NHL level.

I'm almost positive Bradley played both wings for us.

(But in all seriousness, bringing in all those players last year really seemed to work out for them. Entertaining story and team.)

Can anyone confirm what Bradley is on waivers for? Buyout or contract termination?

This was my thinking on the matter as well.

Unless something else significant is going to be done to bring in a 3rd line C who can bump up to the 2nd line as a temp while Kesler rehabs, i wouldn't mind seeing Santorelli brought in as a stop-gap. He's not a complete player by any stretch, but it wouldn't hurt to have a bit of competition/insurance in case Schroeder falls on his face and isn't ready.

If he doesn't show well while Kesler is out, no big deal...throw him back on waivers. If he does show decently well, keep him on in the sort of role Tambellini and Ebbett have filled in the last couple years as a skilled sort of utility player. Who knows, maybe Santorelli would even pick up a bit of a defensive conscience under AV.

Why waive Santorelli? They could have traded him for Luongo

Santo wasn't even a shadow of what he was the year prior, but he did play well with Booth.

Bradley is on for a buyout.

It is pretty obvious that the Panthers are ceasing roster space to add forwards either through free agency or bring up prospects. Excluding Garrison, the Cats have 5 D-men on one way contracts and have qualified 2 RFAs( Kulikov and Ellerby) for a total of 7 and have one goalie under contract win one slot open. Except for adding a goalie, the D looks pretty set barring a trade.

These guys clear or were they even an option to be picked up today on unconditional waivers?

Both cleared according to Mckenzie. Bradley to be bought out (guessing the $125 buyout so no cap hit) and he didn't say Santorelli would be bought out soo guessing he will remain with the team

If so, I'd definitely want the Flames to take a look at him.

I've always been a bit of a closest Santorelli fan and with a bit more development, I don't see why he can't become a decent #2 C. He has enough puck skill and with a bit more commitment to D, he could be a 50-point guy through his prime years (28-31).

I don't really see why they don't try to put him on re-entry waivers first.

Mike Santorelli buyout from CapGeek.com

2012-13: $533,333
2013-14: $533,333

vs

800k re-entry waivers loss for 1 year

Unless Panthers don't have a 2nd buyout period this year? The deadline is Saturday IIRC.

Santorelli could be a good cheap pick up for someone. While his season two years ago might be just a fluke he's still young enough to contribute. I'd love to add him to any mix of bottom six players.

When a team like the Panthers, who are weak down the middle, scratch a center for the entire year it should say something about that center.

If he isn't in the offensive zone, he is a liability on the ice.

Even then, it's not like he had a decent shot or playmaking skills, just around average.

I hope some team takes him on re-entry or is crazy enough to trade for him.

I think Tallon or some of his staff is probably phoning all the 28 teams (doubt Nashville wants him back), that if someone is willing to take him on re-entry (I think this happened with some player during this very season, can't remember his name or team..). If not, they'll just skip that and buy him out before the Saturday deadline.
