Alot of the talk regarding lineups for next season assume that Gomez will no longer
be with the team.What if Gomez isn't traded or sent down? What is the projected lineup and possible player movement?

Parenteau will easily get 4 m on the UFA depends who will pay for him. 29 year old playmaker doesn't come by cheap i know he had a breakout season but the guy is good.

Why do people even goto the trouble of making posts like this when their numbers are so unbelievably wrong? Parenteau is going to get 2.5 million a year for 3 years? In what world?
As for Corey Sarich...forgetting the fact that he just re-signed...did you actually propose giving him 4 years and 4.5 per year?
Have you ever seen him play? In what world is he worth anywhere remotely close to that?
C mon guys. Gomez has ZERO chance of returning. The franchise will be ridiculed for being cheap and not wanting to win if they bring him back. He was the old regimes biggest mistake , the new regime has to cut bait.
Most of the fans and media will turn quickly on Bergevin and CO if they keep Gomez and doesnt produce, which he wont because the guys skill set has diminished over the last 4 years. His point total have gone down consistently over those years. He has little to offer any team offensively

Unless the Habs make 1 or 2 big ticket UFA acquisitions or trades than they will have lots of cap space. Why send Gomez down just because?

Its not just because, its because he cant produce anymore and really has no position on this team. Where do you propose they fit him in? Please dont say move Eller to wing. Lets not hurt Ellers progression for Gomez. IMO he is done in Montreal and has ZERO percent chance of being back. If he is, this team is going backwards

Again, they won't send him down/away "just because"
Even if Gomez is healthy for most of the year and puts up 35 points for the season that's contributions which need to be made from another player.
Given the option of playing Leblanc on Eller's wing or Gomez on Eller's wing for me personally it's easy. At least for the time being let LL play in the AHL and gain valuable experience.
The Habs won't allow Gomez' albatross contract to hinder them from making additions to the team, but if they dont' make any big time pick ups than the cap space will be there and then some.
