I really think with the speed and accuracy with which this list is updated (Which is not blowing my own horn, I mean with the speed and accuracy with which posters on here supply me with reliable updates, as well as the help of invaluable assets like Capgeek.com and Eliteprospects.com), that we here at HF have the best free agent tracker on the internet.

With all of that glad-handing aside, I now present the first in (hopefully depending on busyness) a series of analysis of the best UFAs Money Can Buy.

The First Group is in regards to Scoring (Including players who played a minimum of 10 GP in the NHL last season and excluding those who have signed overseas without an out clause and Teemu Selanne because if he's coming back, it's only for the Ducks).

THE BEST SCORERS

GOALS
1. Zach Parise: 31 G in 82 GP
2. Jiri Hudler: 24 G in 81 GP
3. Ray Whitney: 24 G in 92 GP
4. Olli Jokinen: 23 G in 82 GP
5. Shane Doan: 22 G in 79 GP

BEST GOALS PER GAME (LESS THAN 70 GP)

1. Guillaume Latendresse: 5 G in 16 GP (26 G over Full Season)
2. Andrew Ebbett: 5 G in 18 GP (23 G over Full Season)
3. Mikael Samuelsson: 14 G in 54 GP (21 G over Full Season)
4. Lee Stempniak: 14 G in 61 GP (19 G over Full Season)
5. Peter Mueller: 7 G in 32 GP (18 G over Full Season)

BEST GOAL TOTALS ON BOTTOM 10 TEAMS

1. Ryan Smyth: 19 G in 82 GP for 29th team
2. P.A Parenteau: 18 G in 80 GP for 27th team
3. Kyle Wellwood: 18 G in 77 GP for 22nd team
4. Tim Stapleton: 11 G in 63 GP for 22nd team
5. Joey Crabb: 11 G in 67 GP for 26th team

ASSISTS

1. Ray Whitney: 53 A in 82 GP
2. P.A. Parenteau: 49 A in 80 GP
3. Zach Parise: 38 A in 82 GP
4. Olli Jokinen: 38 A in 82 GP
5. Jaromir Jagr: 35 A in 73 GP

BEST ASSISTS PER GAME (LESS THAN 70 GP)

1. Mikael Samuelsson 17 A in 54 GP (26 A over full season)
2. Marc Pouliot: 4 A in 13 GP (25 A over full season)
3. Byron Bitz: 3 A in 10 GP (25 A over full season)
4. Keith Aucoin: 8 A in 27 GP (24 A over full season)
5. Peter Mueller: 9 A in 32 GP (23 A over full season)

BEST ASSIST TOTALS ON BOTTOM 10 TEAMS

1. P.A. Parenteau: 49 A in 80 GP for 27th team
2. Kyle Wellwood: 29 A in 77 GP for 22nd team
3. Ryan Smyth: 27 A in 82 GP for 29th team
4. Nick Johnson: 18 A in 77 GP for 24th team
5. Tim Stapleton: 16 A in 63 GP for 22nd team

POINTS

1. Ray Whitney: 77 PTS in 82 GP
2. Zach Parise: 69 PTS in 82 GP
3. P.A. Parenteau: 67 PTS in 80 GP
4. Olli Jokinen: 61 PTS in 82 GP
5. Jaromir Jagr: 54 PTS in 73 GP

BEST POINTS PER GAME (LESS THAN 70 GP)
1. Mikael Samuelsson: 31 PTS in 54 GP (47 PTS over full season)
2. Guillaume Latendrese: 9 PTS in 16 GP (46 PTS over full season)
3. Peter Mueller: 16 PTS in 32 GP (41 PTS over full season)
4. Lee Stempniak: 28 PTS in 61 GP (38 PTS over full season)
5. Tim Stapleton: 27 PTS in 61 GP (35 PTS over full season)

BEST POINT TOTALS ON BOTTOM 10 TEAMS

1. P.A. Parenteau: 67 PTS in 80 GP for 27th team
2. Kyle Wellwood: 47 PTS in 77 GP for 22nd team
3. Ryan Smyth: 46 PTS in 82 GP for 29th team
4. Tim Stapleton: 27 PTS in 63 GP for 22nd team
5. Joey Crabb: 26 PTS in 67 GP for 26th team

So, if you're a team looking to improve your scoring and money is no object, you should be targetting Zach Parise, Ray Whitney, P.A. Parenteau and Olli Jokinen. If you're looking to improve your scoring, but your team is a budget team, perhaps players like Mikael Samuelsson, Guillaume Latendresse, Tim Stapleton, Kyle Wellwood, or Joey Crabb will give you more bang for your limited bucks.

Not sure if this has been covered, but Todd Cordell tweeted that Brendan Mikkelson re-signed a 1 year, 1-way contract with the Bolts.

If this has been covered, my apologies.

Not sure this merits a new thread (have at it if you wish!), but Tampa Bay have re-signed RFA Brian Lee to a 2-year deal.

A couple days after cutting him loose by not qualifying him, the Montreal Canadiens have re-signed Petter Nokelainen ($575,000 1 year, 1-way) (per capgeek).

Also per Renaud Lavoie, The Habs also re-signed Brendon Nash ($575,000, 1 year/2-way).

Also from Lavoie, the Sharks have re-signed Matt Irwin ($650,000, 2-way, 1 year)
