I can't say I was hoping the Habs would re-sign Moen (thought White could do the same defensive work for less) but $1.8m/year on a contract that takes him to age 34 is a very nice signing.

I think he left money on the table - could easily have seen Burke giving him $2.5m/year to in a foolhardy attempt to fix the penalty kill.

4th-line wingers are set with Moen and White, just need to find a centre for them. Plus the top-6 LW hole and #3/4 D hole.

That is a great deal. The number of years don't bother me at all. Great cap hit for a Moen in his prime!

Happy about this. Was worried we wouldn't sign him. Probably one of the bigger Moen fans here.

Great contract. I thought for sure he would get over 2 million a season.

you know what, at a 1.8 average, 4 year leading him to 34 3rd or 4th line duty, PK specialist.... really really love this signing

don't need to worry too much about or PK for 3-4 years.... really like that

all hail Bergevin

3 years would have been perfect, but at 1.8 can't complain. Huge part of the bottom 6, relieved he wasn't lost to free agency.

As i wrote earlier, it only made sense to keep him for long term if they were going re-sign him, because the team will only really become a serious contender in a couple of years. They know what they're getting with Moen, and it's a pretty low cap hit all things considering. Very good deal, imo.

Expected 2.25 millions for him so can't say I'm not happy with 1.8. Some might not like the term but Moen is only 30 years old and he's pretty durable. Him and Eller have great chemistry so I'm glad he's returning. 1.8 with a 70.2 million salary cap for a top 9 forward is nothing. Great signing for Bergevin!

Nothing really exciting in re-signing a 3rd/4th liner we had when we finished last IMO.

I'm starting to get scared that we'll re-sign every player we had last season.

Nokie , Moen...who's next ?
Kostitsyn and Gill ?

Wow. I can't explain this feeling.

We in Montreal have never felt this before... somehow "underpaid" a player (based on our expectations)... wow.

Speechless.

Great job GMMB.

Moen shows up to play every night and was one of the bright spots on the team last year. Get real.
