i wouldn't mind a bernier/dubnyk tandem, but im not really so desperate for bernier to give up the likely required assets like MPS.

haha Calgary... When will they start injecting more youth into their lineup?

Indeed. While I don't blame them for letting Jokinen go, they're not exactly stacked at center.

Is Stajan now their #1 or #2 center?

Iggy is the crux of these problems. He won't let them tear it down... and he doesn't want to be traded.

I thought there were rumors at the end of the season that he wanted out?

Clearly with the Wideman signing that's not the direction they are headed in.

common sense said he should want out, and after his divorce and such he should be wanting to slip away but he doesnt and its funny to watch the flames suffer

he will agree to be moved at the deadline if Flames are out of the playoff race.

i cant imagine iggy stopping the team from trading him and moving on, if they asked him to.

he should realize if he wants to win, it will almost certainly be elsewhere.

Really enjoying the Flames offseason

"Well, 2011 didn't work at all, what's the new plan?"

"Do exactly the same thing just to be sure what we were doing was completely wrong?"

"Brilliant!"

Their media guy on oilers now earlier sounds like Oiler fans from 2007 - 2009, "the fans in calgary really just don't know what the plan is, everyone is trying to figure out what they are doing"

Just need to watch them publicly beg Parise to sign a contract only to watch him sign somewhere else for less money, and they will offically be using the Oilers playbook of failure from before the rebuild

With that contract it means laying off people, raising ticket prices, and cancelling xmas bonuses.

Theyve made more moves than the Oilers.

I'm guessing Cammy and Roman Cervenka will be their 1 and 2 centers.

So a guy who is better at wing, and a 5 foot 6 import who has never played an NHL game.

Golden.

I keep forgetting about Cervenka, I'm kind of excited to see what he can do.

edit: Two sub-6'0 centers!? Unbelievable.

Cervenka is 5' 11'. And I don't think Cammy's that bad a center.

He is listed at 5 11. I would be amazed if hes within 3 inches of that. Pretty sure he was under 150 pounds a few years back, too.

Cammalleri is a fine centre. He is just a better winger.

Doesn't really matter what you think. Stats say that he was 45.6% on 228 face-offs last season.

I've never seen Cervenka play so I can't comment on how good a replacement he is for Olli. I only responded to a post saying Stajan was going to play center on one of the top 2 lines. My guess is Cervenka and Cammy will have those jobs.
