Tons of re-signings of late. All the top names are likely to be signed within the first few days or first week of free agency, then there's going to be long lulls in between signings as we monitor CBA negotiations all summer long.
I already feel for the poor guys having to do the several hours on air. They'll mostly only have re-signings to talk about and there's only two big names out there. I'm happy the Kings will be quiet. I work from home and usually watch the coverage on July 1, but it being a Sunday I'll be going about my normal weekend day instead.
Kinda curious about Scuderi and why we haven't heard about an extension for him. hmmmm.... If no extension, I'm thinking he's traded back east.
he still has a year left, and i imagine when his contract is over, Lombardi will want to use 1 of the many prospects since it will save 3mill in cap space
I'm one of those interested in DOAN. i think we can definitely have an improvement over LEWIS on the 3rd line.
Sutter likes rolling the lines so this as our 3rd makes us very scary
. BROWN // KOPITAR // WILLIAMS
. GAGNEorPENNER // RICHARDS // CARTER
. KING // STOLL // DOAN
. NOLAN // FRASER // LEWIS
esp if penner doesn't resign.. replacing his size/grit/scoring w/ doan would be even be an upgrade. I like the idea of having a cup-hungry vet in the line up.

Not really, Mitchell didn't re-sign until February. Williams signed during his final contract year too. Dean has no problem signing players during the season. Scuderi isn't a priority like quick was. Stoll and Fraser were just re-signed in June. Penner could be done over the next few days.
If Scuderi has a solid season and none of the prospects can show they are ready, he will get a new contract offer. He has two cups, he can decide to go back east if he wants.
I'm not all that worried about Parise and Suter both signing with Detroit. Remember, they're not adding to their current team. They're replacing Lidstrom, Brad Stuart and possibly Hudler. Suter is a great #2, but he's not a #1 and he's no Lidstrom. There's going to be a world of pressure on him if he signs there.
Even though I'm not expecting anything major regarding the Kings, I'll be up Sunday just because I do every year haha, just find it interesting to watch for a few hours and see what happens and listen to everything breaking.
