Simple predictions:

"Where the **** is GMGM?"

"Is GMGM's phone working?"

"GMGM must be sleeping"

"We couldn't have matched that?"

"Dumpster diving"

blame the contract of 'player x' for the failure to sign 'player y'

edit: and of course. something about Shero

......etc

I predict the Capitals sign Parise and Suter to long-term deals. They then don't produce 40 goals a piece, and become whipping boys.

I'm horrible at these things, but I'll give it a try:

2012 Free Agent Frenzy/July 1 Prediction thread
With July 1 just over a day away, let's hear your predictions:

1. The first signing of the day (league-wide) will be assuming Justin Schultz doesn't count and assuming re-signing of extensions not UFAs doesn't count: Knuble or Carle, although guessing no one signs a big contract dman until out of Suter sweepstakes
2. The Caps will sign Salvador
3. Zach Parise will sign with I hope NJD
4. Ryan Suter will sign with Detroit
5. Alex Semin will sign with Detroit (I wanted to say Nashville)
6. The most surprising signing will be FAs choosing to sign with CBJ?
7. The biggest bargain will be Ray Whitney if he returns to Carolina
8. The worst value signing will be Jason Garrison
9. The most active team will be Dallas Stars
10. The biggest winners of July 1 will be Detroit

1. The first signing of the day (league-wide) will be Semin, so I can breathe again.

2. The Caps will sign Semin.

3. Zach Parise will sign with the Devils.

4. Ryan Suter will sign with Detroit.

5. Alex Semin will sign with the Caps, because he can't bear to part with Ovie.

6. The most surprising signing will be Semin, because most expect he'll play for the Wings.

7. The biggest bargain will be Parise, because he'd rather be loyal to the Devils than want big money.

8. The worst value signing will be no clue.

9. The most active team will be Pens.

10. The biggest winners of July 1 will be the Caps.
