Marty's been a class act and a great backup for Hank.
Solidifies our depth in net throughout the organization, eliminates the need to go after one in free agency and does it all before Free Agent Frenzy even starts.
BEAUTIFUL. Thank you, Marty.
Someone buy this guy a Steak Dinner at Virgil's or Luger's.
Luger's is terrible and expensive as ****. Virgil's it is.

Hagelin- I'd agree that Virgil's is better, but Luger's isn't terrible, although I do like their sauces better than their steaks, which isn't saying a whole lot.
What? Did you actually think Brodeur has the slightest interest of being a back up goalie in this stage of his career?
Didn't he hand over the starting job to Hedberg during the past season?

good move. glad he'll be back. despite some poor play later in the season his good play overall was one of the main reasons why Lundqvist has had one of the best seasons of his career. I think he will be capable, especially if we can put more goals on the board along with our defense gaining experience.
Good deal for Marty, he's a great backup for this team and awesome in the room. Huge improvement from Vally and some of the others we've had over the years.
4th liners don't have the luxury that most other players have. They are not poor by any normal standards, but they also have the least amount of money to stretch over the rest of their lives of all players in the NHL. The truth is they don't want to have to reinvent themselves to work a real life job, and they also enjoy living comfortably. This reality is most in danger to 4th liners, especially ones who don't capitalize whenever possible.
I'm not mad at Prust, because the truth is I'd be doing the same thing. If I didn't have to go work at a real job and be part of the rat race, why the hell would I want to? This is not to say Prust will be forced into working a real life job the moment his final contact ends, that's not the issue. He just wants to make sure his standard of living is maintained 20, 30+ years from now. Or at the very least reduced as little as possible.
