If it was me, I'd ask those two why they aren't working for such an amazing organization. Gretzky and Coffey have nothing to do with anything, it's a distraction from what actually matters.
If he wants to be THE guy...he'll sign in Edmonton and provide them with a piece they haven't had in years and desperately need. If he wants a smooth transition...he'd be better off looking somewhere like Ottawa, but he'll never be THE guy there.
Senator fan, huh? Man, 11/12 sure gave you guys a collective fat head.
I think it is for a guy coming out of College signing an ELC with no guarantee of a second contract. What if he ends up getting injured during his ELC and can't play anymore? How much does that $200,000 mean to him then?
Not only is it probably that he makes his $212,500 A bonuses, it is more likely that he will make an extra $2,000,000 in B bonuses if he plays for the Oilers and not the Canucks. Although that could be a stretch for the first season, it becomes more achievable in the next 2 years of his contract.
That's a pretty big "What if".
From the sounds of things, this kid is gonna be in the NHL for a while.
How do the bonuses work? What must he do to qualify for them?
Except there's nothing wrong with taking your time and confirming to the teams the deadline you are operating on so that they can plan around it, it's onlly reasonable.
He's hardly grandstanding with this whole decision process like Lebron, we haven't heard much from Schultz at all.
Justin Schultz hasn't been on TV once and hasn't made a specticle of himself at all. In fact GMMG stipulated that no communication with the media was something that Schultz team asked for and thus he wouldn't discuss the situation with the media.
James made a ****ing TV special about his decision after courting the media for weeks.
The only issue with Schultz is that there is no other hockey news to discuss so the media is really focused on him right now. As far I know, he's a quiet kid who is doing his proper due dilligence before picking a team (and hopefully its VAN).
I don't get it either. He's selfish because a lot of teams are interested in him and he's taking every opportunity available to him to make the decision that works best for him?
