This Justin Schultz fiasco has gotten out of hand. The guy is getting calls from Gretzky and Coffey, and is being recruited like mad. All for a guy that has never scored an NHL goal in his life. What a joke.
Quick could be considered unexpected since the team has not officially released the full terms.
But how about Penner. They met with him earlier in the week and nothing has been said. They could have made a deal with him and agreed to hold off on the announcement just to have something big for Sunday.
And I don't expect anything from the two biggest free agents until Monday. That seems to be the trend get offers on day one accept on day two.
Im two hours away from Lake Havasu and im going to wake up bright and early Sunday morning trashed so it better be big news !
If its big news i will yell it to everyone at Lake Havasu off the boat and well drink to it haha. Im also in King gear haha wonder if there will be Coyotes fans

What is truly crazy is that he is demanding a top 4 spot and certain ice time promises and has never played a NHL game in his life.
I have already said this not sure if it is even in this thread but it would be funny as could be if the Oilers win him and they want Bernier so we say we want him for Bernier.
I would not want this since I think he is a cancer, one that could be cured maybe. But how much would that tick off the Ducks.

Why the grief? He'll be a King eventually... like all Oilers worth a damn.

Where/when did he state this? I would think it is the Quick signing since it hasn't been made official yet. Can't imagine it being another UFA signing as that would give grounds for a team to file for tampering.
Probably Quick.
That being said Lombardi could have gotten permission from some team to talk with one of their UFAs but I highly doubt that is the case.
Tony is referring to what someone on letsgokings.com posted. They said they were at the la times building and ran into Lieweke. He said specifically the Kings were gonna have groundbreaking news on Sunday, and I doubt its about Quick because it had already been announced earlier that day that he would sign. Should be interesting...
I love the playoffs. Makes regular season so much more intense. Man the amount of hate phoenix has for us right now is crazy. Put them down at their longest run. Can't wait. Blues coyotes canucks bring it.
To me signing Suter may be better then signing Parise. Long term you add around 3 mil a season over what Scuderi gets and it makes Scuderi expendable, even though I love him on our team.
It allows us to trade a Bernier, Scuderi package which would fetch a lot.
It gives us a Doughty, Suter pairing good for 26 mins a night, and allows Doughty a little more freedom and a second offensive option from the point both on the first pairing at regular strength and power play.
A healthy Carter all year and a coach that lets them play a reactive offensive system with an improved power play should help goals for.
I thought Parise wanted to be on the East Coast or Minnesota?
As such, I think it would be great if the Kings could land Doan. He wants to stay in the area, he has never won, and while he was lauded as a pro's pro like Smyth, he was one of the hardest working players on the Coyotes, even when they were down 3-0 to the Kings. Smyth didn't want to be here and half sulked through the second half of the season for the Kings. Huge difference to me.
Would be a killer line-up, too:
Brown - Kopitar - Williams
Doan - Richards - Carter
Gagne - Stoll - Lewis
King - Fraser - Nolan
Of course, that or signing Suter would make me very happy.
Williams probably won't be traded. He just signed an extension, brings veteran leadership, produces above his cap hit and doesn't have 'that' much value league wide. The only way he is traded is in a package for an upgrade like Kane which is unlikely

He's never even stepped onto NHL ice, has it, let alone scoring a goal? I hope whatever team signs him, it bites him/them in the ass and he sucks, a la Brunnstrom and "the Monster". That was a joke as well. I don't care HOW good this kid is, he doesn't deserve this. Unreal.
