Any enforcers/fight specialists available??

Trying to come up with a list of names for who's available in this years FA crop. Teams that are looking for that sandpaper man/sheriff/beat down specialist and who they can look to starting tomorrow. What have we got??

Steve MacItyre is the guy I want the Canucks to go after. Would be cool if we can just re-sign Bitz too (or better yet both).

I haven't seen or heard anything to suggest that John Scott is being retained by the Rangers, so I guess he's available.

No one wants to fight MacIntyre. I like the guy, but it's kind of pointless to keep him around when every time he tries to fight he's declined. He did just about everything he could to stir something up, and still no one wanted to go with him.

I was really shocked when I saw that Matt Kassian was picked in the 2nd round after scoring 3 goals and 0 assists in his draft year...

The Canucks generally lack toughness so they need a nuclear deterrent. They would have to revamp their roster completely to actually add toughness so instead they get a guy like BigMac and tell him he can take an instagator once in a while just to send a message.

Nobody gets cheapshotted more than the Sedins but if BigMac was going to beat up your tough guy because a pest was messing with a Sedin I think that might change.

The true deterant of a guy like Mac isnt him going over and beating up the other teams tough guy when someone messes with your star player.
It is Mac going and cheepshoting one of their stars after someone cheepshots one of yours.

Years ago when Memesso was trying to cheepshot Gilmour, Wendel Clark didn't threaten him to make it stop he threatened Bure. Memesso stopped going after Douggy quickly.

No, you he isn't.

I'd love it if your team had Big Mac.

Nobody will fight him and he's such a slow skater that he can't catch anyone. If he could actually skate he'd be an awesome enforcer.

Yes, please go ahead and sign him. Someone will take down the Sedins and Big Mac won't be able to do anything about it.

I don't he'll be back in the NHL, Mac pretty much said himself that his NHL career was done.

As for deterrents, the way the league is headed now, I'm happy to have a guy like Engelland who can play a regular shift. He's out there enough to be a more active deterrent and he'll make you pay in other ways than just dropping the gloves. Hopefully the Pens add someone else in that same mold at forward.

I'm a fight fan from way back (my first jersey was Francois Leroux ) but guys of MacIntyre's ilk are all but extinct. The game is headed in a different direction.

The Nucks should look at Asham if they want to go that route. He's fairly one dimensional too, but you can trust him out there a lot more than Mac. His game has its drawbacks, but he's cheap and he's one of the better middleweights in the league.

What about Jordin Tootoo? Seems like he would be a sought after commodity.
