Plan A: Doan - Brown's clone. Established himself as a 20+ goalscorer.

Plan B: Whitney - Would be an huge improvement offensively, especially on the powerplay.

Imagine if for some reason we signed both Doan and Whitney. Phoenix fans would hate the Kings even more

He forgot the "" smilie...at least I sure hope he did.

It's just what has been posted on this board for the last 6 years.

The Stanley Cup champions will make a big push to sign Parise. They have the money and opportunity to play with either Kopitar or M Richards

The Kings also have no intention of trading backup Jonathan Bernier unless they're blown away by an offer. They like security of 2 goalies.
I don't know if this was posted before

Kings are waiting for a 1st rounder for Bernier. If they don't get it, they won't move him.

Once Luongo gets traded and Brodeur signs, that will increase the market for Bernier.

Colby Armstrong was just bought out by Toronto. That's one guy I wish we had signed a couple years ago in free agency, never did well in Toronto though

It's gonna take a gross overpayment for Parise to even give LA a second look. No thanks.

Hearing NJD GM Lou Lamoriello to meet with Zach Parise today, one final time before Parise is scheduled to hit UFA market 12 noon tomorrow.
It's also been reported that Parise will be in the Toronto offices of his agents, fielding calls and meeting face-to-face with suitors. Anybody know Lombardi's flight itinerary?

He should just take the Stanley Cup with him and put in the middle of the room. Show the chart with all of the boxes filled except the LW spot next to Kopitar or Richards and how they are locked up for a few years.

And show AEGs bank statement. Talk about solid ownership and deep pockets.

Their clients usually have millions of reasons to enjoy the circus though.

They would make the same amount of money without the side show. Crosby and Quick had no trouble getting their deals done.

Do you think Suter is going to make less because he is just taking phone calls?

Richards seemed to be embarrassed by it last year.

Toronto based reporter. LeBrun seems to have more ties with the Kings and he seems to believe the Kings will pursue Parise as well. Guess we'll find out in less than 24 hrs.

Saying the the Kings will go after Parise is simply stating the obvious.

Whether or not they expect to sign him, or are willing to match the huge offers he's likely to get from other teams, is another story.

The big catch on the free-agent market, certainly among forwards, is Zach Parise. Expect the Kings to at least sniff around tomorrow, and see what the market is like for Parise, but it’s expected to be astronomical. Even if the New Jersey Devils aren’t able to retain Parise — they were expected to talk today — the Minnesota Wild is expected to make a big push, and Pittsburgh and Detroit might make big pushes as well. As Dean Lombardi indicated last week, there’s a lot of money available, and Parise is likely to get a massive offer from at least one team.

That's why I think it's not wise to get into a bidding war for him. The Kings played him in the Finals and saw the type of player he is. He'd be a great addition to compliment the top two centers on the team, but he isn't needed at an astronomical cap hit. Parise at $6-6.5m makes sense. Anything about $7m is overpayment. Plus I'm not too fond of spending so much cap space on a single winger.
