Of course it's true. He "could" take the Ranger offer today. He "could" take the Van offer or Ott offer today.

Zip hasn't said anything that wasn't true 12 hours ago.

that would make the player a RFA not a ufa.

teams get compensation picks from league for losing 1st round picks. no compensation for other rounds. the other team shouldn't lose anything for signing a ufa, thats what a ufa is

Schematics, but the way he worded it makes me believe that his "sources" are talking specifically about him going to the Rangers, not just that he could decide today. Your interpretation is also possible, but I would think the reference to the Rangers would be pointless if so. If his sources are simply saying that Schultz is going to decide today (which isn't news), I think he would've simply said that rather than bring the Rangers into it. However, as I said, I don't think his sources are worth anything.

Is it possible NYR pulled the trigger on the Nash deal knowing Schultz is signing with them? Just a thought.

Let's sign him and trade him for Nash or Ryan. That'd teach him to use a loophole for sure.

Disclaimer: I don't really want Nash.

I think it's just a tweet to inform the fans who aren't investing the time following this (like we poor schmucks are).

Yeah I agree with that. I don't think it meant that he was taking the Rangers offer.

I'm sorry, but this made me laugh. Made me picture a CAD drawing of the pen he'll use to sign the contract or something

Zip really hasn't said anything. I have no sources and I could write what he wrote.

Parise, Doan,Whitney, Suter could take offers from the Rangers tomorrow.

Strickland thought the tweet was real and he calls up the Ottawa brass to confirm it. Andy was pissed.

He reported Schneider wasn't close to getting a new contract. Two days later,Schneider had a new contract.

Guess winning isn't important to him if he doesn't choose Vancouver/New York. Those are two wonderful situations he can step right into.

If I was Schultz, I would demand that all the teams come back to Toronto and pitch me again, just to be sure I make the correct decision.

Read it the same way.

Let him rot in Edmonton.

I didn't read to mean he wasn't signing with the Rangers either.

Oh, I didn't either, but coupled with the other tweet that it was down to Edmonton and Ottawa, that's what I surmised.
