ehhhhh players around the league aren't going to be that upset, just ones from Anahiem. Schultz isn't the first guy to do this and no one gives a **** about Blake Wheeler doing it at this point.
Wheeler NEVER had this level of pomp and circumstance.

At least when LeBron did it, he was-and still is, the best player in the league.
This a kid that hasn't even played a minute in the NHL and is pulling a stunt like this.
Yes, he has a right to do so. He found the loophole in the CBA. It doesn't look good though.
He should have just chosen a team early on and told his his agents and be done with it.
A stunt like what, exactly? He decided to become a FA and now has the choice to choose any team he likes. He picked his desired teams and is now mulling over his decision. More power to him. The FANS are making far more out of this than he is. This sorta thing happens every summer. Why all the hoopla over this kid is beyond me. But there is no stunt here.
The real problem is how Schultz let his agent handle this. It's one thing when it's a vet UFA like Richards, it's another when it's a guy who hasn't played in the NHL yet.
But this is his agents doing, this is the first time Schultz has ever had to deal with contract stuff or anything. I'm not saying he's shown good judgement here but in the end he's following what his agent told him to do, and his agent likes putting on these shows apparently
Sources tell me it’s down to three teams with the Ottawa Senators and the Edmonton Oilers being two of them. Sources close to the player tell me a third team is also receiving very strong consideration. Who that team is remains a little foggy but the New York rangers have been aggressive in recruiting the player. For now his agents are standing by the phone waiting for a decision
Ryan Getzlaf: "I've never seen him play or anything but I hear he's pretty good. He better be really good because a lot of players, not just on this team, don't like the way he's handling this situation. We want guys who want to be here and be a part of our team. No one wants to deal with that sh... uh stuff in the locker room." He corrected himself as my 6 year old son approached. Good dad! He also said he's more disappointed that the organization lost a draft pick rather than losing Schultz."

“@b_ryan9: What time is "the decision" Justin Schultz edition on tomorrow? Want to make sure I tune in.” the suspense is killing me
Bobby Ryan @b_ryan9
@smithpelly23 did we make the top 5?
Devante Smith-Pelly @smithpelly23
@b_ryan9 doubt it Bob
I love this stuff.
BTW, if we got Schultz, it would be pretty funny if we traded for Bobby Ryan...
isn't he an ESPN reporter? When is the last time they were relevant
Yes, ESPN Sportscenter anchor and writer for ESPN.com on the NHL. Usually pretty good articles. Sometimes I get the feeling that he loves college hockey more than NHL hockey, he was a big part of the Frozen Four ESPN coverage and through the offseason he's been tweeting USA Hockey & college hockey news in with his morning sports news tweets. Schultz being a college hockey guy, Bucci could have a good source.
