Can't wait until the main board spins this to being about ownership issues.

My math could be wrong, but I believe bringing Janssen back is more expensive than letting him go and keeping Boulton

Wow a little bit of a nice news. At least that's $500k grand in new cap space. It had to be done cause he was pretty awful. Seemed like a nice guy high fiving fans out of the parking garage when they returned from LA, but he was pretty bad playing for us. It was worth the buyout.

I think it's more about Boulton being redundant if Janssen is here. Cam, in my opinion, is more intimidating so in his role, I think he's more useful. Just my take. Dude is crazy.

lol he'd have to actually be using a modern phone to accomplish a buyout in the port-a-potty.

Haven't really stopped to think about it yet, but if that is the case I guess they know what Cam brings. A little bit of energy, some physicality, and an enforcers role. Boulton was probably expected to bring A LOT more, and that's why Lou likely signed him to a 2 year deal. The 4th line in the playoffs made him expendable. Even though the 4th line scored some big goals against Florida in tight games, and games we won by a goal like Carter's game winner in game 1 vs Florida, and Bernier's goal in games 6 which we won by just a goal in OT and 7 vs Florida for Gionta which we won by just a goal in OT. If we lost that series Little Gio might be back in Albany, and we may have wound up having Boulton or Janssen in the lineup every game again like last season.
I think we'll see Cam play in no more than 30 games next year UNLESS there is injury or depth problems in the forwards. No way they spent almost $2.5 million on all the 4th liners to play together only half the games.

Your math is fine. As I said before, Boulton was the one who became expendable. Just like BG said, this should surprise no one.
Good for Cam though.

Well, this makes sense. Glad we're going with a fourth line that can play hockey this year.
