Parise / Suter, where do they go?

I see NYR, Detroit, Minnesota as favorites but who else is there? I obviously am hoping for Leafs but don't have my hopes up.
Team USA caliber players getting a few threads when there is to many for a guy that hasn't played 1 NHL game yet. You can guess term and money if you want. I'd say around 8 yrs/7-8M per

I wish they'd swap teams.

Parise likely for DET, MIN, and PITT.

Suter likely for DET and MIN.

The package deal is coming to Hockeytown.

That would be awesome, but I'd be shocked if it became a reality.

I think it's more realistic to say that Suter is coming to DET and Parise to someone else.

They are going to my favorite team, because it is the only logical decision and I want it to be true.

It isn't logical for them to go anywhere else especially to the other crappy cities mentioned.

/close thread.

Didn't realize these guys were UFAs. I hope the Pens make a run at one or both.

Suter is a lock to Detroit. Kinda the worst kept secret just like Richards to the NYR last year.

Parise I think would love to sign back with Jersey. However, I just don't know if that is possible. I see him going to Minnesota. One thing that is hard to compete against is the hometown team. Just like when Pat Kane because a FA. I think Buffalo would be tough to beat.

I'd hardly call Madison a farm town...

See, I don't get this, people trying to analyze where players will go based on their personality. Do you know them? Have you sat down and talked with him? Isn't it just as possible that "He's a Wisconsin farm boy" and prefers the countryside to that he dislikes the countryside because there's nothing to do, and he'd prefer a mid-sized city?

All of a sudden everyone are pals with NHL pros and sociology professors on top of that. Sheesh.

I think Detroit is in top 2 lead for both of them, but I figure they won't both go to Detroit. Suter to Detroit and Parise resigns or goes to Minnesota is my bet.

I think they are baing their opinion of Suter on this, but I'm not sure.

Pittsburgh did not clear $15 million of cap space to sign no one. They will make a serious run at one of these guys, the betting money on our board is Parise. Crosby and he have been friends since prep school days, and Crosby's relationship with Parise's family dates to those days. To the point where Crosby sat with Parise's family in his suite during the cup finals. There is some talk in the media that Crosby and Parise have talked in the past of playing together at some point.

Few on our board even talk of Suter very much. Likely because of how stacked we are with defensive prospects who will be coming up over the next few years.

I would love if a team like NYI/PHX/NSH signs both because the others were so focused on Schultz.

Suter to Detroit seems like a no-brainer. The one Pittsburgh hook is Shero's history in Nashville.

Parise to Pittsburgh seems a good shot unless Minny or New Jersey is ready to back up a truck full of money. If Detroit misses out on Suter, they'll go hard for Parise.

I think we'll be seeing Suter in a #20 Wings sweater and Parise in a #11 Wings sweater.

Think Minny is going to throw so much money at Parise he won't be able to say no. My fingers are crossed for Suter to Detroit.

Would depend on how much it would take to sign them obviously.
Pittsburgh would not be paying the most money to either. We could only sign them if they are interesting in taking less to get a better shot at winning.

im basing my comments off of GM david poile's statements.

he said he guaranteed he wouldn't sign in a big city (LA, NY, etc).. and suter is a farm boy. throw the wisconsin part out the door.. wherever he goes, his farm is a big part of his life.

im more in the know with suter than the majority of you.
