This is a good fit for him. Although he won't exactly take an NHL team to the "next level," he's great at developing a culture within a team and getting them to play hard-nosed, two-way hockey. Great for the kids over in Philly.
Great for Terry. Not a week ago I asked Bryan what Terry was up to and he said he didn't know lol.
Good for him and good for the Flyers organization. It may seem like a step down going to the AHL but there was a lot of competition for those gigs. I have little doubt he'll get another head coaching job somewhere, he is a great bridge guy who teaches players effectively.
Danny Duberstein is good at two things ...
absolutely - it is inevitable Lavy will burn out with the Flyers and they'll want to go with someone totally different in temperament. That's TM.
There are rumours that Lavi is getting an extension soon, not that it means anything. Just ask Carlyle and Wilson how that worked out! But as far as Murray coming in as head coach, I hope not, we already had Stevens as head coach in Philly and wanted to strangle him. Stevens is fine as an assistant but he and Murray are like two peas in a pod with their lack of emotion.
I don't see Murray getting another head coaching job in the NHL. He is more of an assistant.
Head coaches need to be able to motivate their players to play their best. Biggest difference between Sutter and Murray.
That makes it sound like this was his only head coaching job. Things never end well and that was particularly true in one case but he had success in three previous stops. He is a bridge coach, gets things moving in the right direction. There's always young teams looking for that so there is always work for that type of coach.
