Big question - Does Parise or Suter even sign tomorrow?

Suter on the other hand doesn't seem to be setting up for major meetings with different teams like Parise is. This leads me to believe everything will be done over the phone with him and he could very well sign tomorrow.
Isn't Suter not taking all calls/planning any meetings at all tomorrow? That's fine, it will help Shero focus on the primary goal of Parise. And I'm okay with the Yohe guess of $7.5 to $8m per season, but 10 years is a loooooong time.
Also love these Niskanen quotes from twitter:
Niskanen: "I'm not happy to be in Pittsburgh. I'm super happy."
Niskanen: "Pittsburgh does things the right way, and I want to be a part of it there. I knew immediately it was the right place for me."
Rossi just said almost he same thing. Apparently somebody's doing some leaking.
If so it does not hurt us. It is more broadcasting to Parise that we are serious.
Well, at least I do not think it hurts us. It puts other teams on notice as well and gives them time to plan around it. I do not hear any sort of leaking like this from Detroit or NJ. I suppose for the Pens it is like the guy who at an auction where the bidding is going up in $100 amounts suddenly bumps the bid by $10,000 hoping to give the message to others that he will go to whatever it takes, back off and look at some other painting. Maybe it will work, who knows.

i like it. And ya, 10 years is a long time. But that is a deal that would be very hard to say no to.
if we don't have Parise signed by 1 tomorrow this place is going to be in full panic mode
I am not so sure Parise will take that long. It depends if the whole thing with Sid is true or not. If he knows where he wants to end up and gets a reasonable contract (the reported abouts of $7 - $8 million over 10 years certainly qualify) what is left to ponder over? I also expect that except for the offer of the Wild, the offers will be similar to one another anyways. The offers to Jagr from Detroit and the Pens were that way, and we both pulled at the same time. I also think that Suter is Detroit's most important target, given the hole that they are filling.
If he really has no preference, then it might take a while as he sorts through the offers.

Imagine the outrage of other fans if he signs here immediately at noon. Everyone will call tampering and just freak the hell out.
There will be no disagreeing with Orpik. His wife will tell you those eyes "just melted her heart". Now we have to figure out what her heart was made from... I'm betting Jarvic 9 titanium heart, implanted after a hockey accident.
"You all... you just don't know Brooks the way I do... he's so SWEET."
I sure hope so cause I'm gonna cry like a little girl if he signs somewhere else tomorrow
I haven't been this nervous for a FA Frenzy in an awfully long time. When is the last time we had this kind of cap space? Right along with that though, when is the last time we had the holes we have right now?
I'm glad my fiance will be at work. I really should get some beer though.
That's perfect! It's probably best for her to not be around if you're going to obsess over tomorrow (which of course you will )
What do you think the proper beer for FA day is? Something Pittsburgh based to help with the Parise-to-Pitt karma?
My wife and I have season tickets to the musicals at Benedum each summer and tomorrow we have tickets for Annie @ 2pm. I realized this on Wednesday when I looked at our packet of tickets and started to freak out. Luckily my wife loves me and just laughed and said she'd take one of her friends with her and I could stay home and watch tv and play on my forums. That's why I love her

I was at lunch with work friends at the Famous Dave's that used to be in the Water Works (God I miss that place) when I got the text that Hossa signed with Detroit. I honestly felt like I had just been dumped. And now I've worked myself up to that point again!
Well we've shored up the goaltending and are still stacked down the center. But yeah the team defense (ie system and players) need to be fixed this year big time.

Me neither. I haven't even been eating that well today, or yesterday... or day before that...

When we signed Michalek and Martin. That turned out well
