I see Detroit, Pittsburgh and Minnesota as solid destinations for both. Suter could also end up back in Nashville, maybe Philly or Chicago also. Parise could end up back in New Jersey, maybe in Nashville, or the Rangers. I'd say those first three are the most likely.
You can say all day long Minn will throw Eleventy Billion dollars at him tommorrow, but when have they ever done that in the past? Chuck Fletcher is a smart man (Shero Disciple) they make smart decisions. Making Zach Parise the highest paid player in hockey (What it would take to sign him in Minn) is not going to happen.
Suter to Detroit, Parise to Pittsburgh..Neither will go to Minnesota if winning is a top priority but if money is the determining factor Minnesota can get them
Place that wins is not Minnesota yes of the PAST. What we are looking at is the future and a team that has all the potential in the world to take that next step with someone like Parise and Suter on board. I don't think the Wild will get either, BUT, i think they have the best chance of anyone to get both.
Parise will either remain with the Devils or sign in Minnesota.
As for all the speculation of Pittsburgh landing one or both, I think the Penguins will actually target a guy like Ray Whitney and one of Kuba, Carle or Garrison.
I don't think Ray cleared 15 mil in cap space, and Sid took $0 raise, to target Whitney, or Kuba. No offense to those guys, but I'm sure the Pens are aiming a little higher.

I'm sure they are aiming higher, but that does not guarantee Parise or Suter signs. Minnesota and Detroit have even more cap space and the ability to throw serious money at either player. Ray Whitney would be a great signing for the Penguins and probably a 30 goal scorer.

Yeah, but I think Ray is looking a little younger. If they miss out on Parise/Suter, I would think the next likely move would be to look to trade for Ryan or Perry.

I see the argument, but honestly does that team really need an elite winger like Parise, or Ryan? They need a bit more depth on the blue line. I know they have the prospects, but they need a stay at home defencemen who is not afraid to clear the net or block a slap shot. They lacked that big time against the Flyers. They could sign Whitney, re up Sullivan, sign a defencemen (maybe Suter or a cheaper option) and sign a decent back up goalie because Vokoun is very much a question mark.
I can't help but lol when people say things like Suter and Parise are going to the same team. Suter and Parise could get 7-8 million cap hits each, for many years. And what GM is such a baller he could be enticing both these FAs at once to take a discount to play there?

You know Fleury is still our #1 right. Vokoun is going to play about 30 games, and is a huge improvement over what Johnson brought last year.
Pens could give Parise 7.5-8, and give a stay-at-home vet D-man 4 mil, and still be 3 mil under the cap.
