Was this just a feeble attempt to get people riled up in advance of July 1st? Buffalo wasn't in the running for Schultz. Did this deserve its own thread any more than where Parise or Suter sign?

He's like any other high-profile unrestricted free agent.
Just like most of them, he hasn't said anything and it's all media hype.
Definitely a reason to get mad at him though!

Ya as much as it seems like him, you can't blame him for leaving the fiasco in Anaheim and the media is what's made this so overblown

They still should have drafted a D this time around. Even with this (unproven) kid, they have a horrid D and meh goaltending.

Only without any players as good as Crosby or Malkin.
I still don't understand how Edmonton is Hockey Heaven because they signed one prospect--not even an established NHLer.

Flyers talking to CBJ about Nash.
Didn't Howson learn the first like....six times he's dealt with the Flyers?

I would imagine Philly would have to part with Couturier to land Nash but I can't see Holmgren parting with him.
Mind you a line of Hartnell-Giroux-Nash would be one of the best in the NHL.

Well I never said they were Hockey Heaven, I said they were turning into Hockey Heaven faster than Buffalo.
And no they dont have Crosby and Malkin, but they have some guys that could become close.
We will see who is closer to the ultimate goal in 2 years. My guess is Buffalo will be starting to rebuild while Edmonton is on the brink of a cup.

I don't know if we'll be too active in free agency. I can see a checking line center signed, but I think a majority of our moves comes via trades.

Suter then nobody. Parise might be worth it for Pittsburgh, or a similar team but that's cause he's one of their final pieces. And based on what, exactly?

You realize Erhoff signed here before he even hit UFA and Regehr waived his no-trade to be here...right?
