What a joke.

If Homlgren doesnt hang up the phone immediately he is an idiot.

That makes more sense than dealing Schenn and Couturier as a package for anyone...including Weber... let alone Rick Nash.
Let's hope so.

I worry he might get desperate and do something stupid if the Pens get Parise and/or Suter.

They are probably just trying to help each other out in other negotiations. Trying to drive up the price for Nash to NY and drive down the price for Ryan to Philly

Oh god I feel like all the Parise to Pittsburgh talk is going to make Homer pull the trigger on something stupid and ruin my weekend.

I don't see how it drives down the price for Ryan. Ryan is a comparable player to Nash. Plus he's younger and cheaper.

Except the Ducks literally would laugh at the prospect of trading Ryan straight up for Nash. They are a budget team, and Nash is three years old and $3 million more expensive.

They would be better off keeping a disgruntled Ryan. Nash is just a more expensive version of Ryan.

On the likely-flawed premise that there's something to this, and that Schenn, Couturier, and Mezsaros (or possibly L. Schenn) would all be headed to Columbus, what would we have to get back to not make this a complete disaster, value-wise (to say nothing of organizational need / cap / etc.)

B. Schenn
L. Schenn / Mezsaros
Couturier

for

Nash
Murray / Johanssen?

Even if Columbus does that, they still win in a landslide.

This is just too absurd to be real, right? Why would the Flyers even pretend to consider something like this?

***************(edit : rofl his name is blocked on here...) said that Nash doesn't want to come to Philly, but that guy is a joke. He's probably 15, just look at the way he always try to boast/justify himself...

If you have to choose to send Columbus, Schenn or Couturier, which one you are going to send ?

Maybe something like this:

Couturier+Read+Mezza+pick for Nash+Dorsett+Murray?

They are just trying to show that they have other options hoping that the Ducks will take their offer

We won't get back Murray with that package.

But to answer the question--a week ago, I'm sure 90 percent of us would have said it is more likely they deal Schenn than Couturier--but I'm not sure what the acquisition of Luke does to that assumption.

Then the Ducks trade him elsewhere or keep him. The Flyers aren't their only option.

That doesn't really make sense to me cause if the ducks think the flyers are even considering Schenn + Couturier for Nash then they would continue to push for Schenn +. And if the Flyers were actually willing to part with Schenn I think Ryan would already be a Flyer. If the ducks management have any brains they would see through any would be deception.

Or they could just trade him to someone else if they aren't getting what they want from the Flyers
