After being mocked by opposition fans claiming that our history means next to nil... feels good man.

As much crap as the old boys club gets in town, these guys really came through for us.

Thx to Wayne and Paul, along with Kevin and Craig.

I'd say we probably have room for one big signing (not two or more - that (Hossa/Campbell/Huet etc) is what got the Blackhawks into a bit of trouble). As for D coming up, spots will likely be opened up, in particular Whitney's spot if he never heals completely, plus Sutton and Potter. That would leave something like

Suter
J Schultz
Petry
Smid
Klefbom
Marincin?
N Schultz (if he's still around)

Then there's always injuries and the possibility that guys like Smid for example will be hitting UFA soon.

That said, I see very little chance of the Oilers being in play for Suter, as I think he wants to play somewhere in/around the Midwest.

Yep. Having the "old boys" club certainly didn't hurt.

Way to go Tambo! Feels good to say that.

Krueger said to have a huge part as well.

Bob McKenzie is saying that Krueger had a big part in convincing Schultz, as well.

Kind of exciting that we might have a coach that's engaging and passionate enough have that kind of impact on player.

I'm not sold on this hire, but that's pretty exciting.

Awesome.. Krueger and his motivation skills I bet Brent Sutter wouldn't have had the same impact.

Does anyone else feel that there could have been an impact from Bob Mckenzie stating the Oilers should be a frontrunner a few months ago?

Maybe we should make Wayne and Paul our pro scouts. They can go chat with players they think Edmonton should target so that player agents come to us begging to sign at a reasonable price to be part of the next great dynasty because Wayne and Paul sold it all so well.
