We'd be having GIF parties of who looks the best while holding up the Cup. My god....Football(NFL) may be a game of inches but so is hockey.

Chere is worse of late. TG has had his ******bag moments too, remember his reaction to the game where the lights went out, or his reaction to the Kovy rumours?

Saw this comment in TG's comments section, thought you guys would enjoy it as much as I did:

the only way this off season will be acceptable is if TG agrees to a steel cage match with Rich Chere.

Rich Chere needs a beating

It's hockey. And inch here and an inch there makes a world of difference sometimes. I guess after those two misses, the hockey gods were telling us it wasn't gonna be our year.

Signing Harrold to a one way deal is a pretty clear sign that we will NOT be signing Salvador. Thats a 2.5 milion savings but also a step down. Larsson will be called on to step up. Also indicates that I NJ might not believe that Urbom nor Gelinas are ready to step up to a #7 dman role. Of course, if Lou intends to deal someone, that's another story and the candidates would likely be Greene or Tallinder but after letting Sal go, I can't see that happening.

Salvador reported is looking for 3 years (he's 36)? Th's why NJ will cut him loose. Lou might have bit on a 2 year, $5 million deal but I suspect Sal might want 3yrs and $10. Good luck Sal, heard Edmonton was looking for D.

Now that we'll be rolling a competent 4th line starting from day one, I'd like a see a great reduction in Kovy being double shifted.

Salvador was rock solid last year (and against the odds - what a great story), but I agree that letting him go is the smart move. I could see a young team like EDM or NYI will offering him maybe 2 years.

Sal probably wants a multi-year deal, and since he's over 35, that's not a good idea.

That and we have some depth coming soon (Gelinas, Urbom, Merrill) and guys already signed longer term (Volchenkov, Greene) and younger guys (Larsson, Fayne). Doesh't make sense to commit more than than 1 year to a guy.

Maybe with the draft in NJ next year, Lou is going to let Marty and Zach go so we get a lottery pick? ummmm...maybe not.

I want some news from NJ today....good news. I want Marty of Zach signed today....!!!

I agree, Sal is just the stop gap until our promising prospects start to be ready to make the NHL. I think we only need one year of that, at most. Maybe not even that, since we have six NHL calibre defencemen under contract already, and a capable seventh in Harrold.

We really don't need Sal and it's highly unlikely he repeats this years past performance. Volchenkov is more then capable of taking over his role.
