so you think Kubina is a bad idea for 3rd pairing depth? Stralman is not a for sure coming back
i would do as yo said and move DZ to RD 2nd pair , Erixon on 3rd pair LD then find a replacement on RD until Sauer is ready, hopefully ready
I'd rather Adrian Aucoin or Bryce Salvador than Kubina.
I would be very surprised if Doan comes to the Rangers. I love his game, and I think the team could use him for sure but he really seems like a small town kind of guy. Where does he fit in the big apple?

Aucoin is like 38 I believe and Salvador is a left D..........the market blows on RD and I think Kubina is the only one that would be ok, he played for Torts

Doan has a pretty good lifestyle out there in Phoenix. I read a good profile on him last year. He lives on a nice spread with horses and open space. He obviously loves it, and who could blame him?
Something tells me that the excitement of a world class city like NYC is not even on his list of priorities, quite the opposite, possibly. Just interpreting this from the kind of guy he seems to be.
The Rangers thus will enter a free agent market, which opens at noon on tomorrow, that offers no apparent solution for the club’s void on the second pair’s right side, a hole that has existed since Michael Sauer suffered a season-ending concussion Dec. 5. Sauer is believed a considerable longshot to be ready to open the season if it commences as scheduled in October.

Although putting Del Zotto on the right side has offensive benefits. I think that they will put the strongest defensive player on the right side. I would assume either Staal, or McD would be put there first.
This all depends if Erixon is ready or not though. If he isn't, then expect Strahlman to be slotted in the 2nd paring right side. Del Z will be put into third pair with whatever Dman pickup they make this off season.
I think our holes at RW are significantly more important than RD, at the moment. We loved MDZ over for numerous games and can do it again.
I agree, the issue at RD isn't NEARLY as big of an issue as some people making it out to be. The real importance of it is finding a right hand shot(that aint a game breaker either) who can be our triggerman on our PP. It doesn't matter if he plays the left or right side.
