More "what have you done for me lately?" with morgan than Kristo. Not in terms of production, just in terms of being relevant to the habs. Ellis signs, and suddenly signed prospect>prospect in school.

Not really a knock on Kristo that Ellis is before him.

Ellis is a damn good prospect

It's just the exposure.

Mac Bennett is probably a better prospect than Ellis but gets little love on here.

You're right. It's a knock on the voters.

If neither players for the Habs next year, however, neither is more "relevant" than the other.

Contractually obligated is a form of relevance. I know what you're saying, but let's call it for what it is. A player in hamilton is more relevant to the habs growth and success than a guy located elsewhere. There are exceptions i'm sure.

More than just a few, lol. Schultz, Berger, Holland, Quailer, Stafford, etc, etc... how much does their being currently contractually obligated raise their stock versus Kristo?

I'm not arguing it does. I'm arguing for people voting it must because kristo is the better prospect.

His chance to pull a Schultz was last month but passed by opting in for a 4th year. Schultz on the other hand quit school which enabled him to become UFA. Both guys were drafted 2nd round 2008 and were in pretty much the exact situation decision wise. Each one took an opposite path.

Not a huge fan of Kristo. A few years ago, I'd say he was one of our best and brightest, but now, I feel like he's plateaued. I fear that he'll be one of those D'Agostini types, with flashes of brilliance sprinkled throughout frustrating dry spells. I feel as if Mac Bennett is really underrated here, and I'm convinced he'll be a good #4 NHLer during his peak. Good all around skillset.
