Because they lost a top prospect for nothing and its ******** because he lied about his intensions. If a year ago he had said I don't want to be a duck they could have traded his rights for something but no he said he wanted to play for them. You are only worth as much as your word and his word is worthless.
And maybe a year ago he did intend to sign, but like I said, things change. After the Ducks fired Carlyle and went with Boudreau, essentially changing the culture of the team, he may have decided he would explore other options, his right as defined by the CBA.

I have no problem with him leaving but honor your word or shut the **** up.
Flames invite Wade Murphy to camp this summer he had 91 points in 60 games this year in the bchl.
That Penticton team was stacked, as they won the Fred page cup and went on to win the Royal Bank Cup. 9 players from that team is found in the top 15 for points among all BCHL players. Regardless he put up big numbers when playing for Victoria, who finished last in their conference. He's a clutch player too. He was tied for first in playoff points by getting 18 points in 15 games.
Like the fact you guys are making fun of the guy who didn't see that he wrote 20 a game instead of a season, instead of making a point.
Ott is a big timer, a lot of you guys are under valuing him because of blind rage Calgary didn't get Roy. Ott is the real deal, I'd want him; and so would every GM in the league.

I'd say that this could be an addition by subtraction move by Feaster. Now we don't have to deal with Ott 4 times a year.

Given the asking price, we didn't have what Dallas wanted going forward to get Ott, without giving up some of the future.
