You are only worth as much as your word and his word is worthless.
And maybe a year ago he did intend to sign, but like I said, things change. After the Ducks fired Carlyle and went with Boudreau, essentially changing the culture of the team, he may have decided he would explore other options, his right as defined by the CBA.

Again, things change. If the Ducks changed direction, Shultz used a loophole in the CBA to decide to change his as well. It is a business after all.

We will have to agree to disagree on this one.

Regardless he put up big numbers when playing for Victoria, who finished last in their conference. He's a clutch player too. He was tied for first in playoff points by getting 18 points in 15 games.

He's probably going to be a good asset.

If he changed his mind earlier, why didn't he [be professional] and tell them so they could have gotten something for him?

Well, there goes Roy.

Stars get Derek Roy from Buffalo in trade for Steve Ott and Adam Pardy. There is your top-six center to take Ribeiro’s place.

I just kicked a wall. We could have offered that to get Roy.

I don't care if he is an alcoholic who ever one hates if he scores 20 goals a game.

Like the fact you guys are making fun of the guy who didn't see that he wrote 20 a game instead of a season, instead of making a point.

Ott is a big timer, a lot of you guys are under valuing him because of blind rage Calgary didn't get Roy. Ott is the real deal, I'd want him; and so would every GM in the league.

Yeah, I think we need an Ott-type player on our team over a Roy-type.

Roy is like a Connolly that is injured less. A poor man's Ribeiro.

Imagine:
Glencross - Ott - X

That'd be... ridiculous for teams to deal with.

I'd say that this could be an addition by subtraction move by Feaster. Now we don't have to deal with Ott 4 times a year.

Tootoo? Or maybe some more skill?

Clutterbuck might be an amazing choice too.

Clutterbuck would just be ridiculous. Haha, a line putting up just tons of hits, could roll out against any top line and just dominate them.

But skill on that duo would work great.

Too bad it can only live in my dreams now hahaha.

Carey Price got a hell of a pay day, 6 years, $39 Million ($6.5 Million cap hit).

Given the asking price, we didn't have what Dallas wanted going forward to get Ott, without giving up some of the future.
