JP Dumont breaking out!

Hate to say I told you so but..

I told you so!

Dumont currently is leading the Sabres in goals (8) and tied for the lead in points (19). Pro-rated to 82 games, that would put him at 27 goals and 65 points. Not a bad start at all!

I know that you really wanted him in Vancouver playing with the Sedin's. Buffalo's got something going with the Hecht-Briere-Dumont line.

Isn't this about the 3rd time that he has broken out now?

1st year(CHI) 1998-99
25GP 9-6-15, +7

3rd year(BUF) 2000-01
79GP 23-28-51, -1

The Sabres announcers say every season that this will be Tim Connolly's breakout year.

I don't see where this is coming from. Tim has only been with the Sabres since the 2001-02 season. And he may not even play this season.. so the *every* season isn't accurate.. the announcers don't say that..

Anyhow, good for JP.. he's playing really well. I hope he keeps it up

I'm telling you, I hear it every season from Rick Jenneret and the rest of the guys on the Empire staff. I'm not making this up just for kicks. Every season he's played for Buffalo its stated matter of fact. Tune into the pregame stuff on Center Ice for every Empire Sabres game early in the season if you think I'm mad.

Okay, every season- that would be 2. He's only played 2 seasons in Buffalo and when a #5 overall pick is in his 3rd and 4th year, one would think he may break out. It's not that big of a deal that you make it out to be.

Who said it was a big deal? My comment was in response to Islandnucker pointing out how Pyatt had broken out 3 times already since Pyatt and Connolly breaking out is the annual topic each season on Empire at the beginning of the year. I posted my sympathies to Tim Connolly in the Sabres forum when he was last injured and am a fan of many of the players there.

I think you can make a case for Pyatt breaking out just as easily as you can for Dumont though. In 24 games, he's halfway to his most goals scored ever.

you weren't the only one who was high on him and wanted the nucks to acquire him... but...
at the same time, I wanted the nucks to trade a pick for trent hunter and pick Chow up for free too... What's done is done.
