Which of our center(s) would make the best winger(s)?
I really thought the dealing of Carter and Richards would at least clear the C logjam on the roster, but fast forward a year and we've got G, Danny, Schenn, and Couts all looking like they belong in our top-9. Not to mention Wellwood who impressed me to the point where I feel like he should be on the roster and centering the 4th line with Talbot and whoever as the RW. So which of these guys is most suited to wing? I really feel like Couturier and Giroux belong in the middle; G is obvious and Couts should really be developed as a C, hopefully the eventual #2C behind Giroux. So that leaves Briere or Schenn. I kind of hate Briere's defensive game as a C but he generally seems more comfortable there, and Schenn's game seems a little more suited to playing the wing up and down the wall. But curious what everybody else thinks.
Simmonds-Briere-Schenn is how the season starts IMO. Schenn on the wing for now.
Yea, I could have sworn he lined up at C a fair bit last year but apparently not, so they'll need a 4C as I'm not a fan of Talbot in the middle. Either way I don't want either of Schenn or Couturier on the 4th line.

4C is either Holmstrom or a UFA. McClement, K. Wellwood, Burish, and Konopka are all good at faceoffs.

As much as I want Brière moved to wing, I expect this to start the season as well. Schenn will take on the defensive responsibilities of the center position though.
Briere needs to be moved out to wing. I always agreed he's a better center but at this phase I think Schenn is capable of producing his numbers next year, so go with the kids
It is a good thing to have a logjam of centers on your team. With that said I think Briere should be tried at wing again, even though he doesn't play as well. Talbot should also be moved to wing and we should bring in a real fourth line center.
I don't see why the Flyers would want to trade one of their best and most consistent playoff performer.
If you look at even strength, he is on for more goals against than for...therefore hurts the team more. And if we were to trade him...and he waived his NMC...we would gain assets that would help the team more.
Example: trading Briere for Gerbe and a 1st rounder. Then we take the 6.5 mill and manage to sign Parise for 7.5 mill. So then it's like Briere + 2.5 mill in cap space for Parise, Gerbe, and a 1st. Good deal right there!!
Yeah i really wish we could trade briere. Hes good offensively in the playoffs but the guy concedes way too many goals. He gets scored on more than he puts uppoints and he wouldnt have to be "clutch at scoring goals" if he wasn the reason we are down in the first place. Look at his playoffstats. High ppg yet a huge minus.
