Same here. I don't expect anything to be resolved immediately. In fact I could easily see Parise not making a decision until Monday, or even later.

I wouldn't wait on him for days. I'm getting this bad feeling Marty just takes off to whoever is interested if Lou doesn't try, and give him a contract in a timely fashion, and by timely I mean a day or maybe two. Not worth losing Marty over Parise holding out, and not even guaranteed to pick us. That would be a catastrophe right there. I'll save whatever feeling I might have for Parise then if we have to cross that bridge though.

That's what I'm afraid of. Zpar will be presented with a lot of offers and he may need some time to sit back and contemplate.

I just pray this doesn't drag out...

If Marty's not willing to wait, but Zach while also having 3 other teams in mind with it being only a 25 percent chance he even re signs with us I would be happy if they made the decision a little easier for him by severing ties.

The Devils forecheck continually created problems for them in that series.

Then we stood no chance against the Rangers...until people actually watched the first few games closely. The Devils straight up brought it. A 40 year old MB30 stared down Lundswiss in his prime and beat him.

Despite playing with a ~40% Kovy and shanking numerous empty nets in the series, the Devils gave the kings all they could handle.

If we find a way to keep Parise, we're going to make noise for a long time considering our core is quite young.
You live in Newark now?

As it stands Lou, the Beek, and the Devils organization know what they can give Zach. I would be fairly certain they know right now what they can give him. What they don't know is what other teams will give him. They may even have an over under limit on how much they're willing to budge if another team he really wants to go to raises the stakes.

As far as early speculation goes you ain't seen nothing yet. Don't be surprised if at any time tomorrow, and possibly multiple times there are bogus reports out that Zach did sign at this place, and Marty signed with that team all for it to turn out to be false. I believe it was falsely report Brian Gionta was re signed by us before he actually really did sign with Montreal. I remember something about Gomez. I think he supposedly signed in Philadelphia or somewhere it was falsely reported on that day.

Ah, I was thinking you lived across the street or something. I've only been to Newark twice (and Raleigh once!) and both times I stayed at the Hilton right near the Rock, Brick City B&G, Edison Ale House, etc.

Lovely city.

Don't wanna get off topic, but there are parts of Newark that really are lovely. I personally wouldn't wanna live there cause I'm not a big city guy. Cliffside Park, and the New York City view was enough for me for 35 years. Though you'd be surprised at all the big money guys working in Newark that actually live there.

See, I don't get that feeling at all about Marty. I think he's always known Lou was going to try to get Parise signed first, and merely hired an agent because for the first time he's going to be UFA on July 1st and will have to deal with other teams making offers. I think once the Parise situation gets handled, one way or another, Marty will soon follow. I don't think he's going to piss on the last two decades and leave just because Lou didn't get to him fast enough.

So over/under for seeing another "global moderator" giving warnings and bans around the time free agency starts...?

Although I was pretty damn belligerent earlier. ************************ (<----self censored)

Should be an interesting day. Hope it ends positive for us.

[edit] Am I not supposed to discuss it here?

The Four Horesemen are saddling up. If either/both of them leave, this board will look like post-war Germany this afternoon.

He's been presented with at least half the offers already, either through backchannels or surreptitious tampering through the media Even Richards didn't get numbers floated in his face through the media. I think this is done before midnight, either way. The only reason at all I think Zach would sleep on it is if they had a number they wanted Lou to get to and Lou needed to beg Vanderbeek for more money or another way to make it work.

Parise will be a Red Wing.
Broedeur hired an agent to push for a 2 year deal because he needs to pay Melanie, but he'll be back.
Sykkie is a goner.
Poni is going to sign with the Devils.
Salvador is going somewhere but only god knows where.

Book it (I've always wanted to say that!).

This is the worst GDT ever.

If they want a moderator for this board, they're looking at one.

Everything will be decided by tonight. I think Parise will hear from a bunch of teams but there are only a few he would consider playing for, imo, and we are one of them.

Brodeur won't make his decision until after Parise does.

Salvador won't be signing today either.

Poni is gone, me thinks. If he is not, I guess he is 4th in line.

Parise will take a few days to decide.

Brodeur will be back, after a while.

Salvador will sign elsewhere

Sykora will sign elsewhere

Ponikarovsky will be back

Hedberg to New Jersey or Nashville

Suter to Detroit
Parise to Pitt or NJ
Sykora to NJ for peanuts
Poni out. Idk where, but if he hasnt been addressed, then I don't see it here
Salvador goes to a team in need of depth D and leadership. NYI, CBJ, maybe NYR to replace Stu
Moose to Detroit
Brodeur back on 2 years, 3 per.
My 3 day forecast. I think Lou makes a move for Bernier eventually. He's asked for a trade, so it's known that he wants out and Lou might like that option

The level of arrogance is astonishing. I really hope he doesn't go there.

Were I a betting man: Suter to Detroit, Parise to NJ (Lou's Kool-Aid), Nash to Rangers and Luongo to Panthers.

I just saw that and got confused. That is a reversal of what he's been saying for days, that Parise is definitely going to Pittsburgh.
