Schenn for Nash I'd do but not Couts for Nash. SC is a special player. Schenn is great and project to have a great career, but Couts is a guy I'm extremely excited about.

If you trade Schenn you might as well trade the other Because which ever one stays will be extremely dissapointed in the organization and their play will probably show.

If we come out of this whole deal with nash or ryan, without losing schenn or couturier, ill be a very happy man. Just don't lose either of those two, even if it means not doing a deal at all

Id love Nash or Ryan on this team, but NOT at the expense of couturier. I'd rather not trade schenn, but if I'm choosing between the two, I pick Couturier. I like Brayden, but couturier is untouchable in my mind.

Couts and Giroux are my only 2 untouchables on this roster. Oh and Shelly of course but that goes without saying

i don't want a nash trade like most flyers fans but id be willing to accept it if the deal was voracek, read and a 2013 1st... anything involving the brothers/couturier would make me sick... rick nash at 7.8 isn't worth it

Nash, while a great player who would be amazing on the Flyers top line, is the worst of both aspects of this time of year: Flyers would be hit with an astronomically big contract while still paying majorly with assets to land him. Nash really should be plan E or F in the event that none of the top FAs or a more suitable trade aren't doing, and even then. I'd rather the sum of the parts Holmgren would need to send to Columbus.

I really don't think Homer will be trading Couturier or Schenn. After everything that went down to acquire those two players, they need more then one year to prove their worth. If Homer does make a trade that sends one of them away, I will officially be on the "Homer haters"(I have supported a lot that he has done too)

Really. We have the stars of a tremendous amount of the stars of tomorrow on our team.

There is zero reason to be trading them away for nearly 30 yr old Nash.

They are our future core.

Our future Gagne and Danny B.

They stay unless they absolutely need to be moved.... like for a big time D.

I'm not even sure I do Read+Voracek for Nash. Obviously Matt Read isn't nearly as "sexy" as Nash, and Nash will outscore Read, but is the jump from Read's 20-25 goals to Nash's 30-35 goals worth the astronomical difference in salary? Personally I'd take Matt Read + whatever we could spend the what, $6.5M on over just Rick Nash. Not even talking Parise, say you keep Read and Jake and then sign Semin who nobody seems to want, or Doan or whoever. I'd bet my house that Read+Jake+Semin outproduce Nash+whoever fills the other 2 spots they have to plug cheaply, say Nash+Holmstrom+Harry Z.

It's different if you're talking about a superstar, you deal assets for a generational talent and never look back. But while Nash is a good player, he's not on that elite talent level where you break the bank to get him.

If Couturier and Schenn were untouchable just a few days ago, why would they be traded now?

Read+ would be fine in my book

I'm excited but worried at the same time.

Nash i think would be great, he's only just turned 28 so he's not old (not nearly 30 really as someone else just said) and as for his contract as the cap goes up it becomes a better deal if (and I really believe WHEN) he puts up decent points. He is a proven goals scorer, point getter on a team that's made the playoffs once.

Of course I'm worried about the costs much rather keep Couts than Schenn I think, plus bundling both Schenns would be ok I guess... We know it would be a high price but hopefully not super crazy...

P.s. maybe we have a deal with Suter worked out already so a trade for Nash (who we can already afford) frees up cap to get Suter as well

Am I the only one thinking that if Homer trades at least one of the Schenn brothers, his reputation will go straight to the hell (and never come back)?

I just woke up. Had a dream where I read on twitter that we traded our 1st in 2013 for Nash. That was it, not a single player or prospect. Hahaha.

Same for me, always been a pretty big supporter of him, even when he traded Richards, who was my favourite Flyer, as though was initially pissed off, saw that the return for both him and Carter was going to make the Flyers a contender for the next 7-10 years, with better cap hits for younger players. If he undoes that good work he will go to a zero in my book.

A trade with Couturier in it and I cannot imagine Holmgren will be around for much longer unless there is a cup next year, the fanbase will be livid.

All I can manage is a subtle disappointment headshake for reading the words you wrote. Player rights aren't worth stomped sidewalk gum, so the Flyers will get Rick Nash for Matt Read, a late first and a 3rd round pick. Howsen is bad, but he ain't that dumb.
