Hoping that we pursue Mueller for 3rd line RW and Tootoo for the 4th line. Not opposed to Whitney if he's willing to sign for a single year.
Even still, I'd give Newport Sports a call at 12pm, and indicate that if Zach has any inclination to come to NY, we'd be willing to make a competitive offer, but won't bother if not. Even if Parise doesn't really want to come to NY, it's to NY's benefit to help drive up the price.
Some folks will be in for a rude awakening next season, minus another Vezina, team will be lucky finishing above 7th in the Eastern Conference. It's time to let last season go.. Think we'll sweep the Flyer's again, think Hanks winning another Vezina, think this team as currently constructed (minus Gaborik) can manage more than 1-2 goals a game? We'll see come April, until then it's my opinion, like it or not..
Tootoo, Konopka, Mueller? Good ideas but I think the board will be screaming about how many dusters we have by November.
All three will probably be NYR targets. I doubt we sign all 3.
NYR should have feelers out on Ray Whitney, Alex Semin, just about any offensive producer we can land without trading any of our good young talent away.
I'd welcome Tootoo the player, but count me as a little worried about his history of alcoholism. I don't know if it was "party animal" Radulov getting to him, but if he was having problems in Nashville, I'd worry a lot about him in NYC.

I don't claim to have the answers to any of your questions, but to the one point... yes, we will score more than 1-2 goals a game without Gaborik. The difference is will we score 2.25, 2.5 or 2.75 a game because many games are won and lost with that difference.

I don't know more than anyone else, but I'd be extremely suprised if we went after Mueller. Or maybe I shouldn't be with Slats track record of Wolski, Frolov, Marcel Hossa and co...
Also would be very interested in Yandle. The price would be interesting to see. Dude was a Norris candidate just a year ago. He doesn't have a booming shot, but he's very good at getting his shot through from the point, kind of like Girardi is. His puck moving ability is second to none.
What does he mean "goes large" for Nash? We've already stated numerous times we aren't trading our key young players.
Assumedly, like Howson, he expects teams to change their minds and the offers to go up.
I don't see it. In fact, if NY or Philadelphia get Ryan, and SJ gets someone else, the remaining team will then know that they are the only option for Nash left.

Which could drive Howson's price through the roof... He will still play the "I'm not trading him" card even if there is only one team in it.

He's a changed player now (last season was a pretty successful season for him), and he is simply looking for more playing time than he got in Nashville in his last season.

Fair enough, can he play the PK? I'm guessing he was getting only 4th line minutes in Nashville. With the way Torts likes to play his grinders, Tootoo would be getting 3rd line minutes here

Same team minus Prust and Gaborik (for the beginning of the season), and plus Krieder, and you think we are going to do worse? I have to respectfully disagree. If we make one or two minor moves, we will be fine for next year. If we DO end up signing someone or making a big splash, well more power to us. I just hope we don't give up too much to make a move.

Depends on who you/us the fan think are "key". You have to give to get. People will flip if someone like Stepan, Hagelin, DelZotto get moved, unfortunately it's part of the business of making your team better regardless of the fan-player bond some seem to be stricken with..
