Richards got $12M in 11-12. $10M was upfront. $2M salary. $12M in 12-13 but he gets $8M today in upfront money. $4M salary. $20M of the $60M was paid between 7/2/11-7/1/12.

Parise wants $14M per in the 1st 2 years. $24M as signing bonuses. Pitt has zero interest in those terms.

The Rangers will give him that deal.

They gave Richards $12M w/$10M as a SB. Richards gets an $8M SB today. $4M salary in 12-13.

$20M payable in 1 calendar year.
Dont these signing bonuses count againt the cap?? How could someone fit that?

I'd give him the signing bonuses. Based on those numbers, I highly doubt the bankrupt Devils will be retaining Parise.

Yes, but it would mean his yearly salary would be $2M at most that year.

All three will probably be NYR targets. I doubt we sign all 3.

NYR should have feelers out on Ray Whitney
, Alex Semin, just about any offensive producer we can land without trading any of our good young talent away.
It is remarkable how well Whitney is still performing at his age. He is someone that I would be willing to overpay on a 1 year deal. Limited risk if he falls apart since it is a one year deal. Potential reward would be worth it. He had a terrific season last year.

True- you do have to give to get- but I'd rather not give up more than one young roster player for Nash, especially when you factor in his cap hit. I think I would move DZ or Hags, but Stepan is a deal-breaker. No way you trade a guy who has produced like he has in his first 2 seasons and is 21 years old.

You must be joking... If he doesn't come here, it'll be because of his loyalty to Devils fans. Dolan can afford pretty much anything. The Rangers would offer him a nice fat contract if he would consider them.

The base money is not an issue, only the cap hit is. The NYR budget far surpasses the salary cap.

Does Minnesota have the cash to offer him a 24 million in 12 months?

Richards got 20M in one year from us. I highly doubt 24M is hard for Dolan.

It's not whether the Rangers will do it or not. It's whether Parise even fields our offers because he stated "No" when asked if he would consider playing for us.

Parise has hated the Rangers since he was born. Of course he wouldn't consider coming here. I'd be shocked if he signs with the Rangers.

The Flyers and Matt Carle have failed to reach an agreement. He'll be a FA at noon.

Carle and Garrison are going to be criminally overpaid. I just hope it isn't by us.

Not necessarily retracting. He said the status quo. "I'll be keeping all options open." ******** if you ask me. All options except NYR. And the Islanders of course, who wants to go there...

Parise can get $14M max salary. 20% of $70.2M. Parise wants $12M as a signing bonus. $2M salary for 12-13. He is protected from the lockout.

I'm expecting Pens to offer Parise something in neighborhood of 10 years, $75-80 million.

****. Retirement contract worth 80 million, playing alongside Crosby and Malkin... That's a hard offer to refuse.
