Just bought Spec Ops: The Line. Haven't tried multiplayer, but so far the single player is alright. Not far into it though. I like it.
Rift patch 1.9 comes out today and finishes in like twenty minutes. Very excited for it. Introduces barbershops, mentoring, and Conquest. Mentoring should allow me to finish a lot of old low level quests I have.
Trying to get through Record of Agarest War.. the battles just feel the same over and over. Not good for a TRPG.
Don't mean to derail the thread, but I played this recently. I hate JRPG's in general but I really liked this one, at least the surprisingly deep battle system. Any chance you can recommend more games like Tales of Vesperia?

Well first off just about any other game in the Tales series (if you have the systems)
Tales of Symphonia - Gamecube but of course can be played with the Wii
Tales of Graces f - PS3
Tales of Legendia - PS2
Tales of the Abyss - PS2/3DS
There's a sequel to Tales of Symphonia on the Wii but I would avoid that one since 1) It is a sequel game, and 2) Not that good (haven't finished it yet).
As for other games that have a similar battle system I don't think there's that many. I think Star Ocean The Last Hope comes close but I haven't really played it.
But anyways I suggest if you can to play those other great games in the Tales series. Similar battle system (minor changes within each game) and all around just as much fun as Vesperia.

No, Unholy. Don't say that. The battle system in the Star Ocean games (the earlier ones at least) were terrible. Magic had no use, aside from healing magic. That puts a damper on the entire battle system. Magic is seriously underpowered. In The Last Hope, I don't really remember. Though I thought the game was decent.

I haven't played any of the other SO games so I'm not comparing it to them but I thought it seemed similar from the few minutes I got to play The Last Hope.
Really sucks that no other series uses the linear motion battle system so well.

It's part of what makes the Tales games so great. It has a distinctive, addicting battle system.

Thanks for the thorough reply, man.
I have all of those systems actually, any one you think stands out as the clear cut best one?

Agreed. Nice change of pace from the turn based system.

Go with either Symphonia or Graces f. Can't go wrong with either. Those two and Vesperia are the 3 best IMO. Personally I think Symphonia is as good if not better than Vesperia.
But I'm probably rating the games as a whole and not only on the battle system since I love JRPGS. Graces f has a bit deeper system (not at first but maybe 2 hours or so in it develops) if that's just your focus.

The Tales series is slowly becoming my favorite series. I've been consistently impressed with each game. Final Fantasy has sucked ever since XII. Consistency, my friend. Fire Emblem is up there as well.
Just wanted to say that playing the new Lego Batman is really hard while drunk. Some of the "puzzles" and suit changing really screw me up while imbibed. Fun game, though.
Getting back into SSX (2012) and realizing how much cash you can rack up playing Global Events. I literally won 10 million credits in one day doing trick events in Siberia.
Getting back into Skyrim, still haven't gotten the add-on yet, just achievement whoring . Also been playing Need For Speed Most Wanted, pretty fun but getting hard.

What Blacklist rival are you on? I can give you some pointers
