Thread locked until I see a source for this rumor (not that it's hard to believe).

The Coyotes probably made him aware of their plans for him during player exit interviews. They probably don't have any plans for him. The UFA market can be crazy tough for guys like him. He's probably not into the idea of waiting around all summer only to get a PTO from the Oilers or Blue Jackets. It's nice to have an back up plan. I'm sure whatever contract he signs will have an NHL out clause.

Oh, so now he's actually signed a contract, huh? Not just agreed on a tentative deal or preliminary figures?

He's been dinged up the last 2 seasons after being an ironman type.

I can see that at 32, he's ready to move back to Europe unless he gets either a big-money offer or one from a big team.

No, GMDM has more or less said they Phoenix is moving on from Aucoin and Rozsival, but Rozy has said he wants to stay in the NHL.

Rozi was always a pretty solid guy on the back end I thought but it is time to go with some of our youth. We have too many high end prospects chomping at the bit but I wish Rosival all the best. He was a good team mate to these guys.

I never seen any report about Maloney not re-signing Aucoin or Rozsival only presumption because of all the prospects that are NHL ready.

I could see Aucoin back within the organization. Maybe a 1 year contract but I'd like to see him work his way into our coaching staff eventually. Our next AHL coach? Something to talk about at some point.

Rozsival's biggest asset was his cap hit versus salary for Phoenix. Played well for us but with the return of Michalek I'd be surprised if he was retained. UFA day is a D man's dream. Big cash is dolled out for anyone who can assume top 4 minutes and I suspect Roszival can demand bigger cash and longer term from another team than he could from Maloney.
