Was a RT from James Mirtle. I bet it has credibility.

Nothing so far from either of the Florida beat writers on this. I wouldn't say its confirmed yet since only one source is reporting it.

Good deal if true. Like the Biron signing for the Rangers.

If true, what does FLA intend to go with Clemmenson, Markstrom, Theodore and go after Luongo/Brodeur?

Yeah, and it's been already an hour since BM tweeted that. I call BS.

If not true, then James Mirtle is an idiot. Mirtle is very reliable. I'm guessing it's just not official yet. I doubt he would have put this as a RT if he didn't think it was legit.

Yeah Markstrom should've been given that oppurtunity there but guess they don't want him to do backup duties yet.

The other good thing is that Clemmenson at 1.2 M is a reasonable cap hit for a backup and it provides them an asset they can trade at a later date assuming no NMC. So that's better than losing him as an FA.

They've been hinting that they want him to to show he can play a full season. Knee injuries and surgeries have effectively halved each of his first two.

Clemmenson and Luongo are not really comparable. Luongo is a Vezina/Hart trophy nominated goalie who almost guarantees 35+ wins a year. Clemmenson is barely a starter.

True, but Florida now has the same duo at the same price that they made the playoffs with last season.

No, I think he got it just fine.

This doesn't affect things much on the Luongo front.

Good deal for a solid back-up. I will say this whole Luongo trying to shoehorn his way into Florida is pretty curious. Why on earth would the Panthers give up assets (perhaps considerable) to bring him back into the fold? I think their goaltending is just fine without him. Much like Tim Thomas, Luongo has some distinct leverage to screw over his team-and I think he is exercising it.

it is obviously a move toward acquiring Luongo.

But if you want my opinion, they should have been better to sign Parise or Sutter 5 000 000$ x 10 years then trade him for Luongo.

Just nitpicking here, but it's spelled Clemmensen.
