I don't really know too much about Demers, can anyone tell me what type of player he is and his potential?

He's like Dan Boyle with that kind of potential but he's currently about where Dan Boyle was when he was with the Panthers.

Marleau deserves to retire a shark. If he gets traded and it's not for an absolute massive you're-an-idiot-for-not-pulling-the-trigger overpayment, I'm not sure I can stay a fan.

Marleau isn't an ideal #1 C by any stretch, but if its the only option.

Honestly not to homer, but I think I'd rather keep Grabo, and SJ probably Marleau.

Grabo is a really good shut down D. I like keeping him in that role.

To the Sharks fans,

I don't know what the overall consensus is of trying to deal Marleau. I know his cap hit is kind of big, but he would be a good replacement for production for Parise. Is there anything realistically the Devils could offer to acquire him? Keep in mind, this is without gutting the major core of the team. Certain prospects I'm sure are moveable.

Help me out here, just looking for realistic sounding offers.

Thanks!

Sharks need players like Marleau so trading him is counterproductive. They need big, fast, scoring wingers...and a way to get rid of Handzus. lol

Most of the Sharks fans have no interest in dealing Marleau. We have a window of 2-3 years before the contracts for Couture, Boyle, Marleau and Thornton are up. So we are in win now mode.

Our already slow team needs more players like Marleau. i.e speedy, 2 way-forwards with goal scoring ability. The only way we would expect a trade for Marleau is for a top-6 forward with speed. Not interested in prospects or picks.

So I am not really sure if another cup contending team like NJ would be a good trade partner.

Does Frans Nielsen and a draft pick or prospect do anything for you?

For Marleau? Are you serious? That's atrocious.

Luongo and Raymond for Marleau.

What needs to be added to make it work?

Why do we need Luongo? We're not taking a goaltender if Niemi isn't shipped out...And the difference between Raymond and Marleau isn't Luongo.

That's my only gripe.

Not interested in the Luongo contract. Plus we need a top-6 player to replace Marleau.

Gillis getting DW drunk. Marleau isn't going to Vancouver without obvious overpayment. Also with Lou we'll have 8M+ in cap tied up in goaltending.

The score mentioned rumors of The Leafs and sharks being in talks. i doubt it happens but if it did Marleau and JVR would be make our top 6 pretty stacked.

Lupul-Marleau-Kessel

JVR-Grabovski-Kuliemin pretty talented top 6

I guess we will see

Defintely need to take one of those guys out that top six if you want to entertain the thought of Marleau in it.

I'd gladly take out Kuliemin although I thought DW had a rep for not liking Russians

I think Toronto loses that deal. Moving forward i would rather have Grabovski. Marleau without Thornton is equal to Grabovski IMO. Grabovski is very underrated, he drives the play on his line and is a very solid two way player. Tremendous speed and still young, he has many many more quality seasons in his future i'd imagine. If Marleau is considered better, and thats reasonable, then MacArthur and a 2nd seems like very good compensation to make up the difference.
