Actually it's not. I wasn't pissed until I just saw his interview 30 minutes ago. He basically said that he had a hard on for Edmonton and always dreamed of playing there. He made himself a mini Lebron James by doing this. No one likes that.
I stated yesterday that I hated the kids attitude and even if we signed him, he'd need to change it right away. So stop telling me why I'm bashing him.
Same with me. As soon as he said that he always wanted to play with Edmonton (and of course, the canadian announcer prodded him into saying he really wanted to play in canada) I said he can go ****. I'm really sick of having to wade through this canadian propaganda on the NHL network when 75% of the teams are in the US, including the most financially stable team in the league, us.
Blow it? You can bet that Sather will be poking around the Parise negotiations.
Hes made it awfully clear he doesnt want to come here. Hows that blowing it?
"Poking around" would be the problem. You dont get the top forward in free agency by poking around. The Rangers didn't poke around for Richards or Gaborik. They targeted them and went after them and got them. Parise would be such a perfect fit, I just don't get the perceived lack of interest. As far as Parise not wanting to come to the Rangers, he already backed off on his comments. Way too much made on comments that were made after a hard fought series.
BTW - A lot of people are expecting the longterm deals to be done away with in the new CBA. This may be a player's last shot to get the 10 year deal and get the big front-loaded money. The Rangers have the cash as much if not more than any other team and should be taking advantage of this situation to get a top player that will help immediately.
