The point is when you look at those goalies you aren't automatically reminded of....I can't believe I'm doing this...reminded of this:

Just get someone else who will give you the same, or better performance who does not make your fan base want to kill whenever they see him.

Really, this is amazingly stupid. There were far better options. Options that aren't reeking garbage

I love that this does not even make Free Agent Frenzy on TSN.

Don't see your point ...since we gave him more experience than he deserved, that makes him the best option?

I'd rather anyone else.

Which is average for backups. But he's 40 years old. His time is over.

Played behind a very good defensive club in jersey. He would get exposed for his lack of size in our system.

Also this means another 12 months of debating "Why all the Leighton hate?" re: the 2010 SC playoffs, which is great for those of us who hate change.

Micheal Leighton will not be starting. All this outrage is just from what happened in the flyers cup run. That cup clinching loss. Its stuck in the collective subconscious of flyers fans. LOL.

I understand guys. It hurts.

Yes, any of the NHL caliber goalies.

Options that could've even been cheaper than $900k, too. I just dont understand this. It's not like there's a market for Leighton that he warrants being signed 5 minutes after free agency opens. Hell, Scott Clemmensen, who's worlds better than Leighton, only signed for $1.2M per season. Offer him $700k max, he isn't owed any favors from the organization.

Though I will say, if this is the only thing Homer does during free agency that makes me shake my head in bewilderment and aggravation, I can happily live with it. I just get a bad feeling that isn't going to be the case, unfortunately.

Wasn't Leighton on recall waivers ahead of playoffs a year ago? Teams could have had him last season for 775,000 and passed. What does that tell you?
