Not surprising. Probably plan B if they didn't get Carkner.

Good deal @ 750k per. He's probably a #7 d-man at best, but good depth to have.

Excellent terms for a 7th defenseman. Safety net at defense for a minimal cap hit.

price is good. i'm happy with this. he's not the best option out there, but at 750k he's a good 7/8 and he's an acceptable 6th if we're desperate

Fine with me but if you're going to pay him don't sit him on the bench for 58 minutes a game.

Should be the 7th defenseman. Can't be playing him every game.

Torts likes him. He didn't play him very much in the playoffs because he didn't trust him. Maybe that changes with a little more experience. Bicks is a righty which is very hard to find. He play D and wing. Cheap price. Bicks got a 1 way deal. Good for him.

Torts likes him, gives us depth ... 750k is not bad for a 7/8 D man.

Solid 6/7th D-Man for a long NHL season who will stick up for his teammates.
I like the way Bickel fights. Reminds me of the 1980's. He doesn't hold on and hug people. He opens up and tries to put his fist through his opponents skull.

I wouldn't mind keeping him around as a hitman rather than wasting money on one in the market. He's a good fighter. I think 4th line muscle is a better role for him than defense.

like it. Solid and versatile. Will get better on D and a good guy to have on the team as a roving forward/defenceman.
nice.

Not sure if serious...
Anyway, good depth signing. He was a passable #6 for us last season.

And this.
$750K is a very good number for his role.

I'm not saying play him every game. I'm saying don't dress him and leave him on the bench. There's a difference.
