If Latendresse doesn't sign with the Habs you know the Lighting are going to snatch his tubby arse up.

Holmgren: Meh Jagr is a 50 pts player, we need scoring, let's go for Parise.

Why would a guy like Suter och Parise sign today?
They have zero competion and could easily take a couple of days to ponder offers, no?

As of right now i suppose teams have a lot of cap space. If some teams see that they cant sign someone they might opt for second options and not have as much space to offer. My guess.

I think it's awesome, I wish our GMs had that kind of mentality. Nothing against Bergevin tho', I'm sure he has a plan.

If Parise is not an option I think the Habs try to get Whitney on a one year deal. Guy can still play and rack up the points.

hoping for Gui, you know he'll come cheap. One thing i always liked about him was that even on the nights he didnt bring it offensively, he always delivered a big hit and stood up for teammates

I'm sure it's an easier sell when you haven't just finished 3rd last in the league. While Philly hasn't won it all, at least they're in the contender conversation every year. Can't wait til we're at that level.

It's not just the GM, it's the owner. Phillie owners obviously have no issues throwing a lot of cash around.

I'm jealous of the aggressiveness, that's for sure. On the other hand, being too agressive like they are leads you to trade too much and sign the likes of Bryzgalov.

I'd wish for just one year we went after the huge UFA's. Just once.

Carkner might not be gone yet...

Bruce Garrioch ‏@SunGarrioch

Larry Kelly says there is "No Deal" with Colorado right now. "Family hasn't made a decision." Carkner said in text he had nothing signed
