He played what? 30 games last year? He's got serious knee injuries and probably will spend more time in the IR than on the ice.

I wish him the best going forward, but I don't believe his knees will carry him far.

Lundin is a complete waste of $$ (1.2MM), they should have gave it to Carkner..

Lundin isn't terrible as a #7 defenceman, his versatility is a nice bonus.

I like the part where we're complaining about how much a 6/7 dman is making.

Not sure what to make of this signing. 27-year-old, with 241 games in the NHL, but really hasn't done anything. Only 54 PMs in those 241 games, so obviously not an enforcer type. Can't help but think we already have guys in our system who could bring what this guy does, but I really don't know anything about him.

Lundin is a good bottom-pairing guy.

Is Suter could be offered more than Karlsson by BM? I understand it's UFA vs RFA but wouldn't that be a cold shower to Karlsson and agent?

It's not the money with Carkner, it's the years.

Lundin is a better defenseman than Matt Carkner. He is a good skater and has good offensive instincts, plays well positionally. He is a bit like a taller Campoli, but slighlty better defensively while Campoli is slightly better offensively.

That being said, he doesn't even make 2% of our salary cap and we'll struggle to reach the cap floor this year

People who complain about that kind of deal are idiots... sorry for the truth

Personally, I don't even care about this deal. Adequate 6th-7th D-man, still young and will give us a bit of Depht on D for THIS year. he had an injury-plagued season last year, I'm curious to see what he can do this year.

Not at all, Karlsson is 21 y/o and already makes a lot of money for a RFA (4 years + 3 UFA years on his contract). Suter is a UFA
